It is believed that one needs to train hard and later work hard to become anything in life. But in India, people try to avoid hard work and want to succeed overnight. People trying to use “approach” to please higher ups-be they top officials or gods, instead of working to qualify for the job, is common.

In real life, one has to slog hard to get even a small job. There is mind boggling competition for lowly jobs of even a peon or a clerk.

On the other hand, there are people who dream of somehow getting the top job without first qualifying for the entry level job.

There is one site on internet called “quora” where people ask questions. There one can commonly find peoople seriously asking a question like- “How can someone achieve higher posts than GM in the beginning of career ?”

Hindi movies play their own part in making people believe that one can top in any field without needing to work for it. No matter what is the field of activity of a character in Hindi movies, all he has to do is sing songs and he will have his way. While in foreign movies, the hero would be shown practicing martial arts for several years before being able to take on the baddies, Indian hero, without any practice would be able to singlehandedly bash up dozens of baddies. He may have never held a gun in his life, but he would shoot perfect shots with a gun right from the beginning. He may have never trained to be a sprinter, but he would outrun a moving train. Too bad that real life does not happen like this.

None of Indian sprinters are good enough to win medals even at Asian level, forget world level, and our shooters need to train for years and even they cannot shoot the way our untrained heroes shoot in movies.

Still there are lots of people in India who want to achieve great things by just chaddaaoing “sawa rupye ka prasad” to the Almighty.

One old time fantasy of people, especially during past years was to belive that all they needed to become a hero was to just land up in Bombay. The big banner producers, they thought, were eagerly looking forward to their arrival. The fact that like in any field, one needs to work his way up and gain experience is something these people refuse to consider.

Here is a light hearted song from “Reshmi Roomaal”(1961) that goes- main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon mujhe hero bana leeje”. This song is a stage performance song. It is performed by Maruti. Manna Dey is the singer. The light hearted lyrics are penned by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. Music is composed by Baabul.

With this song, the eighth of the movie, “Reshmi Roomaal”(1961) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Lyrics

pom pom pom pom pom pom

ghar se bhaag aaya hoon

main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon
mujhe hero bana leeje ae
mujhe hero bana leeje
main jo tankha maangoonga
us mein zero ghata leeje ae
mujhe hero bana leeje
main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon
hu hu hu hu hu hu

main thhoda ro bhi sakta hoon
main thhoda gaa bhi sakta hoon
sa re ga ma pa dha ni
ni re sa
sa ga sa
ma ma dha
ta ga dha
sa re ga ma pa dha ni sa
sa ni dha pa ma ga re sa
sa re ga ma pa
arre waah

bahut hi besharam hoon main
magar sharma bhi sakta hoon
pata likha diya hai
dekhiye ji
mujhko bula leeje
arre arre arre
main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon
mujhe hero bana leeje
ho buddy
mujhe hero bana leeje

haan aan aan
aan aan aan aan ae
haseen zulfon ki ik patli si lat
maathhe pe chhodi hai
khudaara dekhiye
patloon bhi neeche se modi hai
khudaara dekhiye
haaye
khudaara dekhiye
patloon bhi neeche se modi hai
agar kuchh aeb baaqi ho
to make-up mein chhupa leejiye
main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon
mujhe hero bana leeje
prabhu ji mujhe hero bana leeje

ho o ho
ho ho ho ho ho
ho ho
kasam allaah ki
main aap ke bachche khilaaunga
kasam bhagwaan ki
main aap ka khaana pakaaunga
kasam hai waah guru di
aah
kasam hai waah guru di
saanu tussi puttar bana leeje
kasam hai
waah guru di
saanu tussi puttar bana leeje
arre arre arre
main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon
mujhe hero bana leeje
aa haa haa
mujhe hero bana leeje

huno
jo ik din ban gaya hero
to ik ik ko saza doonga
wrrah
main dateon ke liye sab hansne waalon ko
rula doonga
mujhe dar per khada kar ke
sata leeje
rula leeje
sata leeje
rula leeje
arre arre arre
main ghar se bhaag aaya hoon
mujhe hero bana leeje
hahaha
mujhe hero bana leeje

Haha….what a hilarious post! It had me laughing all the way. Typical Atulisms in it, like “chadhaoing sawa rupaye ka prasad to Almighty”. 🙂
