In Bollywood movies, most songs are on the topic of love. In most of these songs, the singer wants to achievemore than what he/she has got. Rare is the song where the singer is happy with his/ her lot and has no further aspirations on this count.

I stumbled upon this superb song just now. This song is from a forgotten movie called “Amaanat” (1955) which had Bharat Bhooshan and Chaand Usmaani in lead roles. This song is a duet sung by Geeta Dutt and Hemant Kumar. And what a wonderful song this is. Listening to this song just once is enough to make one like this song.

I had posted a superb comedy song from “Parivaar” (1956) in the past which was sung by Kishore Kumar and picturised on himself. I now find that this movie, apart from this comedy song, had some superb semi classical songs sung by Lata and Hemant Kumar.

I am mesmerised everytime I listen to this song.There is something magical about the music of this song that has elevated this song to a cult status. This song has become a favourite song among amateur singers who are called at the stage to sing a sing.
