Today, when I am looking at the list of old farmaishes that I have yet to comply, I came across this song “Chaand jaane kahaan kho gayaa”. When I listened to this song, I wondered how I had failed to post this song till today.

In Bollywood movies, the main theme of the story is love between the lead actors. One variant of this theme in 1960s was love affair between a doctor and a nurse. “Dil Apna Aur Preet Paraayi” (1960) is a movie on this theme that readily comes to mind. Here Meena Kumari, the nusre has a one sided crush on Raj Kumar, the doctor.This movie and this theme must have appealed to the movie makers, because a few more movies like this followed in its wake.

In Bollywood movies, most songs are lip synced on screen by actors. But there are some songs that are played on the background and the actors on the screen are not required to lip sync these songs. I have posted quite a few songs of this nature. All these days, I failed to realise that I should categorise these songs as background songs.
