Jaane kyun log muhabbat kiya karte hain

Posted on: March 12, 2009

I have already posted a few songs from “Mehboob ki mehandi” (1971). All its songs are delighful to listen to and watch.

Here is this wonderful song “jaane kyun log muhabbat kiya karte hain”. This song is sung by Lata and picturised on a pretty looking Leena Chandawarkar.

Anand Bakshi must have enjoyed writing the lyrics of this song. And Laxmikant Pyarelal could always be counted upon to come up with outstanding music.

Song-Jaane kyun log muhabbat kiya karte hain (Mehboob Ki Mehandi) (1971) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal

is zamaane mein is mohabbat ne
kitne dil tode kitne ghar phoonke
jaane kyon log muhabbat kiyaa karte hain
jaane kyon log muhabbat kiyaa karte hain
dil ke badle dard-e-dil liyaa karte hain
jaane kyon log muhabbat kiyaa karte hain

tanhaayi milti hai, mahfil nahin milti
raahe muhabbat mein kabhi manzil nahin milti
dil toot jaataa hai, naakaam hotaa hai
ulfat mein logon kaa yahi anjaam hotaa hai
koyi kyaa jaane, kyon ye parwaane,
kyon machalte hain, gham mein jalte hain
aahen bhar bhar ke deewaane jiyaa karte hain
aahen bhar bhar ke deewaane jiyaa karte hain
jaane kyon log muhabbat kiyaa karte hain

saawan mein aankhon ko, kitnaa rulaati hai
furqat mein jab dil ko kisii ki yaad aati hai
ye zindagi yoon hi barbaad hoti hai
har waqt honthon pe koyi fariyaad hoti hai
naa davaaon kaa naam chaltaa hai
naa duaaon se kaam chaltaa hai
zahar ye phir bhi sabhi kyon piyaa karten hain
zahar ye phir bhi sabhi kyon piyaa karten hain
jaane kyon log muhabbat kiyaa karte hain

mahboob se har gham mansoob hotaa hai
din raat ulfat mein tamaashaa khoob hotaa hai
raaton se bhi lambe ye pyaar ke kisse
aashiq sunaate hain jafaa-e-yaar ke qisse
bemuravvat hai, bewafaa hai wo,
us sitamagar kaa apne dilbar kaa,
naam le le ke duhaayi diyaa karte hain
naam le le ke duhaayi diyaa karte hain
jaane kyon log muhabbat kiyaa karte hain

Some Hindi films have music where the entire album should be enshrined. This is one example, and Lata is really at her very best.

we need english translation

very nice to hear and to sing the song (Thanks)

This r very “G” Song means Great and good

THe singer is definitely great… the Lata Mangeshkar… the cuckoo of India…
But the Lyrics of Anand Bakshi Saab, is the foundation which holds the music, and singer… take the listenrs to heights of emotions the song is intended to.

broken heart people can understand the deep meaning of this song. love is the fragrance of life, without it, everything is nothing . life is like biggest ? without it.

Mashah Allah kiya lyric h. Tareef us likhane(Anand Bakshi) aur gale (lata) vale ki. very nice to hear and to sing the song (Thanks)

This song is a big favourite among the visitors of this blog. Indeed, this song is a timeless classic.

awesum song

This song is one of many examples of how a good blending of lyrics, singer and composer makes a unforgettable song.

I found it interesting to compare the ethos of this song with a song in DIL CHAHATA HAI (2001) – with a 30 years gap. There are answers as to why people fall in love. See the video clip of the song written by Javed Akhtar :
