Bollywood movies have many rain songs. But I have noticed that clouds (who bear rains) have not received their due in these songs.
Still there are a few baadal/ baadra songs in bollywood as well.
Here is one such song from “Bhabhi”. The thing that one notices in this song is the lyrics. Very simple, yet exteremely effective in getting the message across. Lata has sung this song with such skill that one can keep listening to it time and time again.
The picturisation does full justice to this timeless song. The expressions of Shyama in this song are so very natural and cute.
I thought that “chal ud ja panchhi was the only iconic song from “Bhabhi”. Now I know better.
Two iconic songs from one movie ! Kudos to Chitragupta. And one cannot praise rajindra Krishan high enough for coming up with such superb lyrics.

This movie had two other famous songs – chali chali re patang meri chali re … by Rafi and Lata; “tie lagake maana ban gaye janab hero … by Lata. I remember going up to the terrace and flying kites and singing “chali chali re … ” along with the others. There are a couple of other songs listed as well, I will have to listen to them to know which ones are good, but Chitragupt’s music was usually good.
This song by Lata is wonderful, and as you said, one can listen to it over and over again without tiring of it.
