In 1950s, it was difficult to imagine a music director making his mark without using the voice of Lata. But there were two music directors who achieved this seemingly impossible feat. One was O P Nayyar who never used Lata’s voice in even once in his career. Another music director who stopped using Lata’s voice in 1950s was S D Burman.
In the movie “Lajwanti”, Asha Bhonsle sang for Nargis and sang beautifully too. when it was time for a song not involving Nargis, S D Burman used the voice of Geeta Dutt. This song called for two female voices atleast considering that this song had two main dancers viz B V Saroja and Raagini, but here Geeta Dutt’s voice is used for both. Of course there is the voice of chorus too for the other dancers.
Majrooh Sultanpuri wrote this beautiful song.
When I listened to song the first time (yesterday), I wondered what the fuss was all about, but by the time I listened to it a third time, this song had grown upon me. I guess that is how any song becomes popular.

One of the dancer is Padmani Priyadarshini, one who featured in Madari title song and Dil hi to hai famous song “Lagaa chunri mein daag”
And the they are not B.v.Saroja and Ragini as mentioned in the post and tags.
in the credit sequences one don`t find the names of B.v.Saroja and RAgini

Other dancer is Late Sukumari, cousin of travancore sisters and aunt of actress/dancer Shobhana.
