Laayi khushi ki duniyaa hansti huyi jawaani

Posted on: July 15, 2009

S D Burman was a very senior music director. He started giving music in Bollywood movies as early as 1940s itself.

Listening to S D Burman’s music is 1940s is always interesting. In this decade he created some very nice and interesting music. For instance, I have posted that remarkable song “Upar gagan vishaal” from “Mashaal” in this decade that made Manna Dey famous.

Here is a duet from “Vidya” (1948). It is sung by Suraiyya and Mukesh. The song is picturised on Surayya and a very young looking Dev Anand. Anjum Pilibhiti wrote this song.

It is a nice song to listen to. The voice of Mukesh sound so sweet in this (pre Andaaz) song.

Song-Laayi khushi ki duniya hansti huyi jawaani(Vidya) (1948) Singers-Mukesh, Suraiyya, Lyrics-Anjum Pilibhiti, MD-S D Burman

Lyrics

haa haa haa haa haa
laayi khushi ki duniyaa hansti huyi jawaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa
ab bas mein phool ke hai bulbul ki zindagaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa hansti huyi jawaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa

apni nazar kaa jaadu
apni nazar kaa jaadu
kyaa poochhte ho hamse
dekho jo muskaraa ke ho jaaye aag paani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa hansti huyi jawaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa

tum neend ban ke jab se aankhon mein
aankhon mein ghul gaye ho
neend ban ke jab se aankhon mein ghul gaye ho
sapnon mein naachti hai
sapnon mein naachti hai
hans-hans ke zindagaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa hansti huyi jawaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa

deepak ki roshni par
jalte hain kyun patange
jalte hain kyun patange
ik aap kaa hai qissaa
ik hai meri kahaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa hansti huyi jawaani
laayi khushi ki duniyaa
