Yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa

Posted on: April 12, 2010

There are at least two movies called CID that I am aware of. One is CID (1956) and another is CID 909 (1967).

Both these movies had music by O P Nayyar. The music of CID (1956) is extremely well known even today. In comparison, songs of CID 909 (1967) are somewhat lesser known. That should not have been the case though. This movie was a B grade movie no doubt, but its music was A grade. O P Nayyar may not have been the dominant music director in 1967 that he was in 1950s, but he was still capable of coming up with inspired compositions.

Here is a lovely song from CID 909 (1967). It is sung by Asha Bhonsle and it is picturised on Helen. And this song must be one of the more memorable Helen-Asha Bhonsle song.

The song is written by Shewan Rizvi. The song is picturise as a party song and besides Helen, one can also see Feroz Khan and Mumtaz in this picturisation.

Song-Yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa (CID 909) (1967) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Shewan Rizvi, MD-O P Nayyar

Lyrics

Yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
ho
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
qaatil aankhon waale
o dilbar matwaale
dil hai tere hawaale
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
qaatil aankhon waale
o dilbar matwaale
dil hai tere hawaale
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
ho
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa

raaton ki tanhaayi
meri jaan na le le
teri laaparwaahi ???
????
naghme hai roopaani
mausam ha nooraani
main teri deewaani
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
qaatil aankhon waale
o dilbar matwaale
dil hai tere hawaale
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
ho
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa

mastaane albele
meri baat samajh le
dil ki dhakan sunkar
jazbaat samajh le
ho
kyun tadpaaye aajaa
dil ghabraaye aajaa
chain na aaye aajaa
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
qaatil aankhon waale
o dilbar matwaale
dil hai tere hawaale
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
ho
yaar baadshah yaar dilrubaa
