In this blog I have posted songs that fall into various categories. These days I am finding that there are some songs of a certain (artificial) category namely “songs that I thought were already posted but I was wrong”.
This popular song from “Don” (1978) is certainly one such song. I am surprised to find that this song is missing from the blog till now.
Here is this song from “Don” (1978). It is sung by Lata and Kishore Kumar. It is picturised as a dream song cumparty song on Zeenat Aman and Amitabh Bachchan. Zenat Aman dreams up this song and then it takes the form of a party song.This is a party of the baddies where all the bad men and women are present. The galaxy of baddies include Kamal kapoor, Mac Mohan, Shetty,Alpana Chaudhary etc. That is quite a gathering of villains and their henchmen in one song. Of course, the same was the case in some other songs of this movie too, including the title song viz “Arre deewaano mujhe pehchaano…main hoon Don”.
The song is written by Anjaan and music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.

Hmmm, I really like this new category of yours! I just about vaguely remember this song anyway, so I am not sure if it was a hit in its time, but it is a song worth watching and listening to. What were all the baddies doing there, I wonder? A convention of baddies?
