Ab kaun hai meraa

Posted on: September 4, 2010

“Anmol Ghadi” (1946) was the biggest hit of the year 1946 and this movie in fact must be regarded as a landmark movie in the Hindi movie industry. The movie had Noorjehaan, Surendra and Suraiyya in lead roles. These three in fact sang their own songs. There was no dearth of songs in this movie. There were as many as 12 songs in it and they all became very popular.

I have posted the three most popular songs of the song already in this blog. Now I have decided that it is time for other songs of the movie to get posted as well.

Here is a song from this movie that is sung by Surendra and picturised on himself. It is a sad song which is written by Tanvir Naqvi. Naushad is the music director.

song-Ab kaun hai mera (Anmol Ghadi) (1946) Singer-Surendra, Lyrics-Tanvir Naqvi, MD-Naushad

Lyrics

ab kaun hai meraa
kaho ab kaun hai meraa
ab kaun hai meraa
kaho ab kaun hai meraa
fariyaad hai
fariyaad hai taqdeer ne lootaa hai baseraa
meraa lootaa hai baseraa

barbaad hai dil,
ujdaa hai aashaaon kaa melaa
hoon jag mein akelaa
barbaad hai dil
barbaad hai dil,
ujdaa hai aashaaon kaa melaa
hoon jag mein akelaa
ujdi huyi basti mein hai
ujdi huyi basti mein hai har oar andheraa
ab kaun hai meraa

kyaa khatm na honge kabhi ye gham ke fasaane
furqat ke zamaane
kyaa khatm na honge kabhi ye gham ke fasaane
furqat ke zamaane
kahte hain har ek raat kaa
kahte hain har ek raat kaa hotaa hai saweraa
ab kaun hai meraa

toone mujhe lootaa,
teri duniyaa ne sataayaa
toone mujhe lootaa,
teri duniyaa ne sataayaa
teri duniyaa ne sataayaa
ab tu hi bataa kyaa yahi
ab tu hi bataa kyaa yahi insaaf hai teraa
ab kaun hai meraa

ab kaun hai meraa kaho ab kaun hai meraa
fariyaad hai
fariyaad hai taqdeer ne lootaa hai baseraa
meraa lootaa hai baseraa
fariyaad hai
