Sajjad Hussain is regarded as one of the most talented music directors of Hindi movie industry. But he failed to have a long career in Hindi movies, because he tended to rub people the wrong way with his behaviour. As a result, he got very few assignments in his career lasting nearly two decades in which he got to compose only about 100 songs.
In this blog, I have so far posted 14 songs composed by Sajjad Hussain. I need to search for Sajjad Hussain songs and post them all here.
“Dost” (1944) was the debut movie of Sajjad Hussain as a music director. Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by Noorjahaan. Only the audio of this song is available but it is clear that the song was picturised on Noorjahaan herself.
PS-Our knowledeable reader, Khwaja Sultan Ahmad informs that this song was picturised on Maya Bannerji. So this was a case of Noorjahaan giving playback for another actress.

This song was picturised on Maya Bannerji and was thus the first play-back song of Nur Jehan.
