Bheega bheega pyaar ka samaan

This is a song that I have heard in the past, but my recollections of this song has been vague. In other words, I had little idea about the details of this song.
Now, thanks to the farmaish of this song, I find myself becoming much better informed about this song.
This song is from a movie called “Saawan” (1959). This song is a duet sung by Rafi and Shamshad begam. The song is supposed to be a chariot song picturised on Bharat Bhushan and Ameeta. I say, “supposed to be”, because it is clear from the picturisation that Bharat Bhushan and Ameeta are seated on a stationary “chariot” and they are shown shaking rythmically in a poor simulation of a chariot ride.
The song itself is a wonderful song to listen to. The song may sound like it is an O P Nayyar tune but that is not the case. The song is written by Prem Dhawan and its music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
Here is this “chariot” song from “Saawan” (1959) which is so nice to listen to even today, more than half a century later.

I agree majority would think this is OP (Music & Shamshad).

Good to see you back in action, Atul! I love the breezy air of this song, and listening to it, I thought it sounded a lot like Maang ke saath tumhara… from Naya Daur. I guess the MD was influenced by OP!
