on:“Samaadhi”(1950) was a movie starring Ashok Kumar and Nalini Jaiwant. Few people today may be bothered about its story, but what songs this movie had ! Absolutely timess songs and a few of them in fact continue to influence Hindi movie songs even today. For instance, the song Gore gore o baanke chhore(Samadhi) is still popular among musical plagiarists for their remixing. When it comes to a patriotic song,Kadam kadam badhaaye jaa (Samadhi) is as iconic as they come.
Here is another song from this movie. It is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Nalini Jaiwant and Ashok Kumar. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist and music is composed by C Ramchandra.

Lyrics
aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa
abhi shaam aayegi niklenge taare
magar tum naa hoge
abhi shaam aayegi niklenge taare
magar tum naa hoge
pukaarenge ro-ro ke tumko nazaare
magar tum naa hoge
aa aa aa aa
tumhaaraa pataa chaand poochhegaa mujhse
to main kyaa kahoongi
chhupaa loongi mukhdaa jhukaa loongi aankhen
magar chup rahoongi
tumhaari shiqaayat karenge sitaare
magar tum naa hoge
tumhaari shiqaayat karenge sitaare
magar tum naa hoge
abhi shaam aayegi niklenge taare
magar tum naa hoge
aa aa aa aa
chalengi agar thandi thandi hawaayen
sataayengi mujhko
kahin door bansi ki meethi sadaayen
rulaayengi mujhko
main dhoondhungi tumko o mere sahaare
magar tum naa hoge
main dhoondhungi tumko o mere sahaare
magar tum naa hoge
abhi shaam aayegi niklenge taare
magar tum naa hoge

I have met and spoken to Nalini the angelically lovely one with the baby face and voice ! I spoke to Ashok kumar on the phone .The chemistry between the two in their movies was out of this world; to be matched only by Lata – CR’s and Nargis-Raj-Kapoor’s ! This particular song is my all time favorite ! They don’t make’em like this any more ! Thanks!

Thanks for posting this unheard gem. On the very first listening it has reached among the best of my Lata-CR favourites.
