Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Ae chaand kal jo aanaa

Posted on: April 14, 2011

“Devtaa” (1956) is a movie that was one of the earlier Hindi movies produced by a South Indian Production house. The lead actors of this movie were South Indians too. Gemini Ganeshan, Anjali Devi and Vyjyanti Mala had played the lead roles in this movie.

This movie had superb songs in it. I have discussed two songs from this movie in the past. This movie has of course more nice songs in it and they need to be discussed in this blog too. I am thankful to reader Atif M for sending the lyrics of this song. This song is a lovely song to listen to. It is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Anjali Devi.

Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist of this song and music is composed by C Ramchandra.

Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)

hmm hmm hmm
hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm hmm
la la la
aa aa aa
o o o o o o

ae chaand kal jo aana
unko bhi saath laana
woh jinke baghair aaj pyaar beqaraar hai
ae chaand kal jo aana
unko bhi saath laana
wo jinke baghair aaj pyaar beqaraar hai
ae chaand kal jo aana

ye thandi hawa
ye samaan yeh nazaare
yeh thandi hawa
ye samaan yeh nazaare
aise mein aaye koyi dil yeh pukaare
jise meri ankhiyon ne dekha ik baar hai
jise meri ankhiyon ne dekha ik baar hai
wo jinke baghair aaj pyaar beqaraar hai
ae chaand kal jo aana
unko bhi saath laana
wo jinke baghair aaj pyaar beqaraar hai
ae chaand kal jo aana

o chandaa bataa
hai kahaan chaand mera
o chandaa bataa
hai kahaan chaand mera
itna bata de to kyaa bigdega tera
pehli pehli preet meri
pehla pehla pyaar hai
pehli pehli preet meri
pehla pehla pyaar hai
woh jinke baghair aaj pyaar beqaraar hai
ae chaand kal jo aana
unko bhi saath laana
wo jinke baghair aaj pyaar beqaraar hai
ae chaand kal jo aana

Great composition by the maestro C Ramchandra. This song evokes visions of a lovely, moonlit night, of pleasant breezes, of breathtaking scenery. Wouldn’t you say it is a Chaayageet song?
