Rang bhare mausam se rang churaa ke

Posted on: August 4, 2011

“Bandish” (1980) was a movie starring Rajesh Khanna and Hema Malini. This was a Rajesh Khanna movie in his second phase as an actor after he had lost his superstardom. He tried very hard to regain his superstardom, but it was too late for him by that time. Typically his stellar performance in these movies would meet wit lukewarm response from movie goers. It was in such stark contrast to the response of public in his superstardom days when his appearance in the credits of a movie was all that was needed to bring in the crowds.

This movie bringing together the two ageing top stars together only for the third time or so did not do much for the prospects of the movie, though.

To my mind, eve the quality of songs those days was deteriorating. But the public, for a change, liked the music of this movie.

Here is a song from this movie that the public liked a lot those days, though I personally did not. This song is a duet sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music.

When one looks at the song and its popularity, one cannot but help feel that it is the singing by Kishor Kumar and Asha Bhonsle that has elevated this song to the status of an evergreen song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra who regards this song as his favourite song, whatever others may say. That is the spirit. 😀

Song-Rang bhare mausam se rang churaake (Bandish) (1980) Singers-Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

Rang bhare mausam se
rang churaake
hmm hmm hmm hmm
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon teri maang mein,
sindoor sajaake sindoor sajaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon teri maang mein, sindoor sajaake
sindoor sajaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon piya,
main teri tasweer banaake,
tasweer banaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake

main betaab bada hoon
main bechain badi hoon
main betaab bada hoon
main bechain badi hoon
rastaa dekh raha hoon
main taiyyar khadi hoon
jee kahin lagta nahin
kuch mere bas mein nahin
le chal mujhe nainon ki
doli mein bithaake
doli mein bithaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon teri maang mein,
sindoor sajaake
sindoor sajaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake

Aaaa aaa aaa aaa aaa
ho ho ho ho ho

sab kuch soch liya kya,
jaan de dee to diya kya
ho
sab kuch soch liya kya,
jaan de dee to diya kya
toone mujhko diya kya
mere paas raha kya
loot liya is tarah
aaa aaa aaa
ye to kaho kis tarah
bas gayee aankhon mein,
tu neend udaake,
meri neend udaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon piya,
main teri tasweer banaake,
tasweer banaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake

ho ho ho
ho ho ho
aa aa aa haa
aa haa haa haa

jab tak jaan rahegi
tab tak saath jiyenge
haaye jab tak jaan rahegi
tab tak saath jiyenge
jab tak preet rahegi
tab tak pyaar karenge
ho o
zindagi ke naam se
har kisi ke saamne
ye waada kiya maine,
kasam teri uthhaake,
kasam teri uthhaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon teri maang mein,
sindoor sajaake
sindhoor sajaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake
aa dekhoon piya, main teri
tasweer banaake,
tasweer banaake
rang bhare mausam se rang churaake

We never found Super Star Rajesh Khanna in any film if compared with others specially in the commercial films’ environment, if observed his films very minutely, not with time passing mentality. Moreover, even in pure masala films (which is lesser in his career)we can find number of most effective scenes/expressions with depth touches of human feelings, which perhaps ZERO in others cases.
