O meri gaadi gaadi kaun kehta hai khataari

Posted on: October 28, 2011

Has anyone heard of a Hindi movie by the name “Black Tiger” (1960) ? I certainly had not. But just because I had not heard about it does not mean that this movie did not exist. This movie was very much in existence and it was a quintessential B grade movie. It was produced by an imaginatively named production house called Highway Pictures. The movie was directed by the legendary director of such movies, namely Akkoo. The “star cast” of this movie includes such B grade superstars as Nazma, Azad, Nadira, Habib, Sheikh etc.

The movie undoubtedly belongs to the hall of fame of the most obscure movies of all time, and the same can be said about the music. But unlike the movie, music of such movies often came as pleasant surprise, if one was able to get hold of it.

I managed to come across this elusive song from “Black Tiger” (1960). I was not much impressed the first time I listened to this song, but after I listened to it a few times, paying attention to the lyrics, I concluded that this song is an invaluable forgotten gem.

Only the audio of this song is available, and so one does not how and on whom this song is picturised, but the lyrics (by Saba Afghani) make it abundantly clear that the song is about a khataaraa car owned by the hero who is singing this song in Rafi’s voice. His love interest, singing in the voice of Geeta Dutt is not impressed with his khataara and she makes her view of his beat up vehicle abunddantly clear. The car apparently is apparently refusing to start and the lady had to help in pushing it, causing her to sweat profusely. The hero appreciates her hard work, and likens her sweat to petrol, which if poured into the fuel tank will undoubtedly serve as pertol, he states. 🙂

After repeatedly pushing the khataara, the contraption finally manages to start in the end.

This rare and fun song is composed by Bulo C Rani.

I have no idea about the actors on whom this song is picturised and I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter.

Here is this rarest of rare, great fun song from “Black Tiger” (1960).

Song-O meri gaadi gaadi kaun kehta hai khataari (Black Tiger) (1960) Singers-Rafi, Geeta Dutt, Lyrics-Saba Afghani, MD-Bulo C Rani

Lyrics

meri gaadi
gaadi
kaun kehta hai khataari
chaahe seedhi chaahe aadi
ab to chali jaa
ho ab to chali jaa
kaise chalegi gaadi
tum to thehre anaadi
arre re re re re re
de dhakka

de de de de dhakka
ho meri gaadi
gaadi
kaun kehta hai khataari
chaahe seedhi chaahe aadi
ab to chali jaa
ho ab to chali jaa

zinzer pinzer iske dheele
body tooti phooti
pyaar bhi tera jhoothha
teri gaadi bhi hai jhoothhi

arre aisi khoti baat na karnaa
pyaar khada hai mera
pal bhar mein chal jaayegi gaadi
dhyaan kidhar hai tera
haay
teri qasam
sach hai sanam
teri qasam
sach hai sanam
main jo chaahoo kar sakta hoon
sunta hoon main sabka
de dhakka
de de de de dhakka

o meri gaadi
gaadi
kaun kehta hai khataari
chaahe seedhi chaahe aadi
ab to chali jaa
ho ab to chali jaa

akal ke andhe
pyaar ke bande
ye na toone jaana
tyre ghis gaye
?? ghis gaye
model hai puraana

arre kuch bhi ho
phir bhi hai mere dada ki nishaani
helicopter banke udegi
gaadi ye puraani
dekh
ye jo chali
meri kali
ye jo chali
meri kali
dekhti reh jaayegi tu bhi
hoke hakka bakka
de dhakka
de de de de dhakka

o meri gaadi
gaadi
kaun kehta hai khataari
chaahe seedhi chaahe aadi
ab to chali jaa
ho ab to chali jaa

hatte mein to dhakke deke
gaadi to chali na
choti se aedi tak mera
pahuncha hai paseena

arre tera paseena
meri haseena
beshaq hai anmol
taanki mein pad jaaye
to ban jaayegaa petrol
dekh
der na kar
jaane jigar
der na kar
jaane jigar
chal gayi apni gaadi to
phir hoga dhoom dhadakka
de dhakka
de de de de dhakka

o meri gaadi
gaadi
kaun kehta hai khataari
chaahe seedhi chaahe aadi
ab to chali jaa
ho ab to chali jaa
kaise chalegi gaadi
tum to thehre anaadi
arre re re re re
de dhakka

de de de de dhakka
ye chali
