If I send the lyrics of the song “wo ham se chup hain, ham unse chup hain”, for discussion, Atul may, probably send me a return e-mail saying that this song has already been discussed and here is the link – https://atulsongaday.me/2010/01/28/wo-hamse-chup-hain-ham-unse-chup-hain/ unless he reads the entire lyrics. This was exactly what had happened to me whenever I read the first line of the mukhda appearing as a caption of an audio clip on YT. Unfortunately, I did not proceed further than a cursory glance assuming that this was the song from “Sargam” (1950).
Some time during the last week I noticed that the audio clip referred to above had a run time of 3:20 minutes, more than that of the video clip’s run time of 2:30 minutes of the song which had already been discussed. This prompted me to go into the details of audio clip and what a surprise find! The song with the similar starting verse was from an unreleased film Rasiya (1950s) sung by Lata Mangeshkar and set to music by Bulo C. Rani. Two songs of this film have already been discussed only about two months back and I found that this was not one of them.
I must have heard this song about a dozen times since last week and I am not tired of listening to this song many more times. What a beautiful presentation by lyricist D N Madhok of the feelings of a woman who is not on talking terms with her beloved ! Lata Mangeshkar has sung this song with an easy pace to give emphasis on each and every word. Bulo C Rani’s composition of this ghazal with only tabla and harmonium as accompaniments, has some shades of sufi music.

song-Wo hamse chup hain (Rasiya) (unreleased)(1950s) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-D N Madhok, MD-Bulo C Rani
Lyrics
wo ham se chup hain,
ham unse chup hain
dilon ke armaan
machal rahe hain
wo ham se chup hain,
ham unse chup hain
dilon ke armaan
machal rahe hain
ajeeb ziddh hai,
ki ziddh hi ziddh mein
ye din jawaani ke dhal rahe hain
ye din jawaani ke dhal rahe hain
hamaare dil mein hain wo bulaayen
ae ae ae
hamaare dil mein hain wo bulaayen
wo sochte hain ki ham bulaayen
wo sochte hain ke ham bulaayen
shama-e-mohabbat sulag rahi hai
dilon ke parwaane jal rahe hain
shama-e-mohabbat sulag rahi hai
dilon ke parwaane jal rahe hain
dilon ke parwaane jal rahe hain
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
be-sabr saa sabr ho rahaa hai
ae
bechain saa chain ho rahaa hai
ae ae ae ae
be sabr saa sabr ho rahaa hai
bechain saa chain ho raha hai
zubaan pe taale pade huye hain
kalejaa haathon se mal rahe hain
zubaan pe taale pade huye hain
kalejaa haathon se mal rahe hain
kalejaa haathon se mal rahe hain
wo ham se chup hain,
ham unse chup hain
dilon ke armaan machal rahe hain

The above YouTube clip is no longer available, says it is private. I could not find this song when searching YT. Can someone who has this song post it on YT?
Thanks

Thanks a lot. I spend the full morning today trying to find an alternative link. I could have used this time more productively in discussing a few songs.

Thanks Sadanandji and Atulji,
Your link and the the link in the article works now. The YT uploader is ajayuv who has loaded other songs of Rasiya and is a prolific poster of old songs on YT.
I could only find one song in YT yesterday when I searched and it was the same one as in the article and would not play as it was private. So is thisi a different link or was the original video converted to public?
Just curious, why the period in youtu.be in your URL? The site it opens is actually youtube.
I am asking these additional questions so that in future I can locate the video myself without taking up your precious time.
Regards.
