Ye aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain

Here is another song of the popular genre namely “How come this song was not yet discussed ! ” 🙂
This is a well known evergreen song which most music lovers know even if many of them are not aware of the details of the song. Even I was not aware about the details. It is only now that I have becme aware that this song is from ‘Hamraahi” (1963) and that it is picturised as a melancholic song on Rajendra Kumar and Jamuna.
Here is this melancholic song par excellence. It is sung by Rafi. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist and music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt as well as Atif M independent of each other.

Song-Ye aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain (Hamraahi)(1963) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikshan
Lyrics(Lyrics by Khyati Bhatt)
yeh ansoo
yeh aansoo
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hai
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hai
main roun to ro den aansoo
main hans doon to hans den aansoo
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain
aankh se tapki jo chingaari
har aansoo mein chhabi tumhaari
aankh se tapki jo chingaari
har aansoo mein chhabi tumhaari
cheer ke mere dil ko dekho
behte lahoo mein preet tumhaari
yeh jeevan jaise sulga toofaan hai
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hai
main roun to ro den aansoo
main hans doon to hans den aansoo
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain
jeevan path par jeevan saathi
saath chale ho munh na modo
jeevan path par jeevan saathi
saath chale ho munh na modo
dard o gham ke do raahe par
mujh ko tadapta yoon na chhodo
yeh naghma mere gham ka bayaan hai
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain
main roun to ro den aansoo
main hans doon to hans den aansoo
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain
yeh aansoo mere dil ki zubaan hain

This song wasn’t posted till now? I was singing this only the other day! Rajendra Kumar at his rona-dhona best. 🙂 For a change, he has not lost his eyesight or use of one leg.
This movie was one of those typical South Indian productions. i.e a family drama. Rajendra Kumar is a flirt who Jamuna despises. He falls in love with her and ends up marrying her much against her will. (Her family circumstances force her to say yes to the marriage).
The rest of the movie is all about their married life, how Jamuna keeps him away from her, how his past haunts him, how he tries his best to convince her that he’s changed but she doesn’t buy his argument easily. Finally of course she realises that he has actually changed.
Movie was a fairly big hit, I think (well, silver jubilee hit for sure – after all it was Rajendra Kumar). Songs composed by SJ are pretty good.

Strange, amazing that this song was not discussed in this blog.
Have been listening this song from childhood and remember it was very popular song. Beautifully sung by Rafi Sahab.

Hi Atul
Great song but you have ruined it, with describing ‘Juban’ instead of Zuban.
No offence please, but hoping you will correct it.

This is indeed a lovely song! But the best song from ‘Humrahi’ is..”Mujhko apne gale lagalo, ay mere humrahi…” sung by Rafi and Mubarak Begum. It catapulted her to overnight fame!
