Excuse me, I am going to boast a bit here. In my last post here, on Dil ko hai tumse pyaar kyun sung by Jagmohan, I had written that I used to listen to the songs again and again till I knew them by heart. The lyrics of this song that I present today have been recounted from my memory of that song. I was checking out the robust discussion in the comments section of the previous post, and struck my head when I read in the comments that the lyrics were by Faiyyaz. It should have clicked in my head, because the song below has the line ‘Faiyyaz ki badnaam mohabbat ko dua do’.
I am overwhelmed by the attention that was showered upon what I thought an obscure song. I will try and provide lyrics for all the Jagmohan songs that I know, and also concentrate on providing the lyrics of all the beautiful NFS songs that I used to so love.

Ava ji,
I think the end of second stanza should be-
last line-
‘paajeb ki cham cham se magar isko hila do
ikhlaati hui chaal
ikhlaati hui chaal se bhuschal macha do ‘
Also the word should be,I think,Bhu-chal (earth quake) and NOT bhauchal.

It should be bhuchaal but the singer pronounces it as bhauchaal.

In Urdu it is not “bhuchaal” it is “bhauNchaal … tremor .. earth quack”. please do read translation of this song in the description.

bhuchaal is a word of Sanskrit origin
bhu = earth, chaal =motion
In Urdu, it has been adopted as bhauchaal, but I have gone with the pronounciation that is used in Sanskrit and Hindi.

Re Sri AD’s comments, ‘bhauchaal’ is perhaps a regional pronunciation of ‘bhoochaal’, such colloquial usage enhances the appeal of songs.

Lol at fast number. I suppose so. I also think that the ‘purists’ of that era frowned on such songs and said things like ‘hamara zamane me classical gane hi chalte the, yeh kaise gaane chal pade hain’.

Yes it was nice to hear Jagmohan’s songs.Jagmohan,Hemant Kumar and Talat Mahmood were a craze when I was in the college[1950] and we used to wait eagerly for rekease their NFS.You can hear all of their songs at smashhit,com.These songs excell in lyrical beauty,melody and rendition.Most of the songs I used to sing in college functions and it was liked by students.

Wow, this one was also lovely to listen to. I think I’m going to enjoy the NFS songs more than even the filmi ones because here we are not distracted by picturisation.

My God ! This remix type of the song is,according to me strictly,impossible to even look at.I could not go further than 0.41
In my personal opinion,this destroys the simplicity and heartfelt emotions evoked by the song.
