Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Tum miley pyaar se

Posted on: March 3, 2012

1970s, especially the first half of it was ruled by R D Burman as a music director. So much so that the other music directors too began to compose music that sounded like R D Burman’s music. And of course they began to use the voice of Kishore Kumar also, who had become the top male singer just as R D Burman had become the top music director.

Here is a Kishore Kumar Asha Bhonsle duet from “Apraadh” (19720. It sounds so much like an R D Burman composition to me, but in reality it is composed by Kalyanji Anandji. In fact, if one looks at the list of the most successful composers of 1970s, one finds that Kalyanji Anandji are right up there near the top, just behind R D Burman and Laxmikant Pyarelal.

This lovely duet was picturised on Feroz Khan and Mumtaz. The song was mostly picturised on foreign locations and near beaches, on water bodies etc, and that makes this son a boat songas well.

Indeewar wrote the lyrics of this song.
