“Naag Mandir” (1966) was a B grade movie produced under the banner of Mayurkala Pictures. It was directed by Shantilal Soni. The movie had Mahipal, Vijaya Chaudhary, Indira Bansal, B M Vyas etc in it.
The makers of this movie had signed up an up and coming music director duo called Laxmikant Pyarelal. As they had done in several B grade movies in the past, Laxmikant Pyarelal created outstanding compositions in this movie too.
Here is a song from “Naag Mandir” (1966). This song is sung by Rafi. Shiv Kumar Saroj, who was a Radio Ceylon announcer and who was trying his luck as a lyricist in Hindi movies at that time, wrote this song.
This is the first song from this movie to appear on this blog. Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Mr Sadanand Kamath.
Only the audio of this song is available, but I guess that the song was picturised on Mahipal.

Beautiful composition. I just heard this song few minutes back on my CD 🙂 (Legends-Mohd.Rafi, Vol 3).
