This is a Rafi solo from the film “Aan Baan” (1956). The song is written by Qamar Jalalabadi and composer is Husnlal Bhagatram. I was not able to find a video of this song and only an audio link is available.
There was another film “Aan Baan” in 1972, which had music by Shankar Jaikishan and starred Shammi Kapoor Rajendra Kumar with Rakhee as heroine. A couple of songs from Aan Baan(1972) are posted, but no songs from Aan Baan(1956) are posted yet. Aan Baan(1 956)has a cast of Ajit, Nalini Jaywant, Usha Kiron, Pran and Manmohan Krishan etc. This is a typical Manmohan Krishan type of song. Remonstrating with God and complaining that :
hoti hai buraayi ki pooja
iss teri andhi duniyaa mein
aur nek insaan aansoo ki tarah
nazron se giraaye jaate hain
My information source says this song is picturized on Ajit. What more is required from a playback singer than to sing a song for the actor, in such a voice that even listeners can make out who the song has been sung for or on whom the song must be picturized. Both Ajit and Manmohan Krishan have been fortunate that a few immortal songs have been picturized on them in films. And this sounds like the Rafi voice for Ajit. It is no mean feat to achieve that Rafi Sahab had a distinct voice for such character actors, comediennes and even small time actors who used to act as fakirs singing theme songs in various films. I have personally felt he even sounded appropriately foolish for some actors who looked foolish or ‘ bewakoof ‘ 🙂 and smart, cute, handsome, cheeky, wise as situation and character demanded. No, no I dont think, either Ajit or Manmohan Krishan looked foolish on screen.
Here is the song which is a serious song. It could even be a background song with these three stanza’s talking about different things.

Typing error. It is Rajendra Kumar in “Aan Baan”(1972).
I have not received, the mail for this song’s posting.

IN 1972 “AAN BAAN} THERE IS NOT SHAMMI KAPOR ACTED.
RAJENDRA KUMAR IS A HERO.
