Song-Dil ki duniya basa ke saanwariyaa (Amardeep)(1958)Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-C Ramchandra
Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)
dil ki duniya basaa ke saanwariya
dil ki duniya basaa ke saanwariya
tum na jaane kahaan kho gaye ae
kho gaye
saath rehna thha saari umariya
door nazaron se kyun ho gaye
ho gaye
jaane waale
jaane waale pata tera maine
aati jaati bahaaron se poochhaa
jaane waale pata tera maine
aati jaati baharon se poochhaa
chup rahe jab zameen ke nazaare
aasmaan ke sitaaron se poochhaa
chup rahe jab zameen ke nazaare
aasmaan ke sitaaron se poochhaa
sun ke baadal bhi meri kahaani
sun ke baadal bhi meri kahaani
bebasi par meri ro gaye
ro gaye
dil ki duniya basaa ke saanwariya
tum na jaane kahan kho gaye
kho gaye
hans raha hai
hans raha hai ye zaalim zamaana
apni khushiyon ki mehfil sajaaye
hans raha hai ye zaalim zamaana
apni khushiyon ki mehfil sajaaye
main akeli magar ro rahi hoon
teri yaadon ko dil se lagaaye
main akeli magar ro rahi hoon
teri yaadon ko dil se lagaaye
behte behte ye aansoo bhi haare
behte behte ye aansoo bhi haare
aake palkon pe hain so gaye
so gaye
dil ki duniya basaa ke saanwariya
tum na jaane kahaan kho gaye
kho gaye

Ode to you this time, Khatiji & Atulsaab 🙂
when ever I hear this song, it instantly reminds me of a place/ person that I’m not supposed to be thinking about. But also have feeling that I am very much missing “THAT”.too.

Thanks Maniji, Arunji, Ava & Derubala for kind words of appreciation. When I watched the movie first time around thirty years back, I loved, enjoyed Padmini’s role more than VM’s because she was “live” in her character. And so, my fav was “Mere man ka baawra panchhi……” Now, along with that piece, I cherish this one also. My sister’s fav is still “Taali li dhintaanaa….”

While all the songs of ‘Amar Deep’ are superb, this is my favourite! Such a melodious song. Only C Ramchandra could have given such a wonderful tune. Only Rajinder Krishan could have written such wonderful lyrics. And only Lata could have sung it with such feelings. By the way, Padmini had a very meaty role in this movie. Ragini’s role, by comparison, was a small one……
