Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

kabhi paas baitho
kisi phool ke paass
suno jab mehaktaa hai
bahut kuchch
ye kehtaa hai

o o
kabhi gungunaake
kabhi muskuraake
ae ae ae
kabhi gungunaake
kabhi muskuraake
kabhi ch hupke ch hupke
kabhi khilkhilaake
jahaan pe saweraa ho
baseraa wahi hai
jahaan pe saweraa ho
baseraa wahi hai
jahaan pe saweraa ho
o o
baseraa wahi hai

o o o o
kabhi chhote chhote
shabnam ke katrey
ae ae
kabhi chhote chhote
shabnam ke katrey
dekhe to honge
ae ae
subah o sawere
ye nanhi si aankhein
jaagi hain shab bhar
bahut kuch hai dil mein
bas itnaa hai lab par
jahaan pe saweraa ho
baseraaa wahi hai
jahaan pe saweraa ho
baseraaa wahi hai

na mitti na gaaraa
na sonaa sajaaanaa
aa aa
na mitti naa gaaraaa
na sonaa sajaaanaa
jahaan pyaar dekho
wahin ghar banaanaaa
ye dil ki imaarat
banti hai dil se
dil aansooon ko chhoo ke
ummeedon se mil ke
jahaan pe saweraa ho
ahhha
jahaan pe baseraa ho
saweraa wahi hai
jahaan pe baseraa ho
saweraa wahi hai
ae ae
jahaan pe baseraa ho
saweraa wahi hai
ae ae ae

This song has another version, with a change of words.
‘ jahaan pe baseraa ho saveraa wahin hai ”

This song is actually ‘Jahaan pe saveraa ho baseraa ‘ wahin ‘ hai ‘

wohi or wahi – this or that

wahin – there

‘ Jahaan pe baseraa ho saveraa wahin hai ‘ portion is there in the second stanza.

But it needs correction :

‘ dilaason ‘ ko chhoo ke
ummeedon se mil ke

please give us the meaning of “dilaason”, I always thought that the word is “dil aansooon ko chhooke”.Whether that word is derived from “dilaasaa”??.
If you can, please give us the translation of that particular stanza please, so that we can understand the beautiful song, minutely.
I hope you don`t mind my request.

I also want to know the meaning of line”ye nanhi si aankhein jaagi hai shab bhar”

And thanks for differentiating between wohi and wahin.

kabhi chhote chhote shabnam ke qatrey
dekhe to honge subah o sawere
‘ ye nanhi si aankhein jaagi hain shab bhar ‘
bahut kuch hai dil mein bas itnaa hai lab par

‘Shabnam ke qatrey’ is dew drops, which is found early in the morning.
“yeh nanhi si aankhen jaagi hain shab bhar’ refers to shabnam which is shining bright in the morning , not having slept all night.

And ‘ dilaason’ is referral word of ‘dilaasa’ or ‘dilaase’ (plural).

na mitti naa gaaraa na sonaa sajaaanaa
jahaan pyaar dekho wahin ghar banaanaaa
ye dil ki imaarat banti hai dil se
dilaason ko chhoo ke ummeedon se mil ke
jahaan pe saweraa ho
ahaan
jahaan pe baseraa ho saweraa wahi hai

‘gaara’ – a type of stone
‘imaarat – a building
ahaan – is a negation (with shake of head)

The stanza simply means, that hearts/lives are not made with material things like, mud/stone or golden decorations, but with sympathy and hopes.

jahaan pe basera ho saweraa wahin hai
jahaan pe saveraa ho baseraa wahin hai

These lines can be interpreted in many ways.
Savera – morning, the moment the eyes open, a new beginning
baseraa – resting place, home, abode of peace
