Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Ta ra ra ra rum mere dil mein sanam

Posted on: October 6, 2012

“Hoor e Arab”(1955) was an All India Pictures Production. This movie was directed by P N Arora. The movie had Pradeep Kumar, Chitra, Sajjan, Shashikala, Om Prakash, Gope etc in it.

Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Lata. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad. Only the audio of this song is available so it is difficult is guess how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie as well as on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Mr Sadanand Kamath.

Song-Ta ra ra ra ram mere dil mein sanam (Hoor e Arab)(1955) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Shakeel Badayuni, MD-Ghulam Mohammad

Lyrics(Provided by sadanand Kamath)

ta ra ra ra ram
mere dil mein sanam
ta ra ra ra ram
mere dil mein sanam
tu baad-e-sabaa kyaa jaane
jaane naa koi
mere dil ki lagi
jaane naa koi
mere dil ki lagi
har saans mein hai afasaane
ta ra ra ra ram

ek sitaara
chaand se pyaara
ek sitaara
chaand se pyaara
chhote se dil mein aayaa
paigaam-e-mohabbat laayaa
paigaam-e-mohabbat laayaa
shaam-e-bahaar hai
aankhon mein pyaar hai
dil beqaraar hai
koi nahin pehachaane
ta ra ra ra ram
mere dil mein sanam
ta ra ra ra ram
mere dil mein sanam
tu baad-e-sabaa kyaa jaane
ta ra ra ra ram
aa haa haa
aa aa aa
aa ha aa
aa aa aa

dil ka fasaanaa
lab pe na laana
dil ka fasaana
lab pe na laana
seekh le koi hamse
hai duniyaa hamaare dam se
hai duniyaa hamaare dam se
aayi jawaaniyaan
le ke nishaaniyaan
dil ki kahaaniyaan
pyaar ke sab deewaane
ta ra ra ra ram
mere dil mein sanam
ta ra ra ra ram
mere dil mein sanam
tu baad-e-sabaa kyaa jaane
ta ra ra ra ram

One of the comments on YT mentions that this song was picturised on Chitra.

The mukhda tune of this song is the same as that in https://atulsongaday.me/2009/12/05/bachna-zaraa-ye-zamaanaa-hai-buraa/ from ‘Milaap’ (1955)

Both films were released in 1955. So it is difficult to say who got inspired from the mukhda tune.
