Ram kare babua hamaar phulwa ko

Posted on: December 29, 2012

Today (29 december 2012) is Rajesh Khanna’s 70th birth anniversary. It is the first year in which Rajesh Khanna is no longer physically with us. But the memory of Rajesh Khanna will remain with us for a long time. People of my generation were just in the right age bracket to be out and out Rajesh Khanna fans. The fan following that Rajesh Khanna enjoyed during his heydays was unbelievable. The population of India has doubled from the time when Rajesh Khanna was at his peak, but I can say that no subsequent actor has come anywhere close to him in fan following.

On the occasion of Rajesh Khanna’s 70th birth anniversary, here is a birthday song fro “Anuraag” (1972). The song is sung by Kishore Kumar with gusto and it is picturised on Rajesh Khanna who plays Gangaram, servant to the family that is celebrating the birthday of Master Satyajeet.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

Song-Raam kare babuahamaar phulwa ko(Anuraag)(1972) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-S D Burman

Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)

haa
Raam kare babua
ho o
Raam kare babua
hamaar phulwaa ko
hamri umar lagi jaaye
Raam kare babua
hamaar phulwaa ko
hamri umar lagi jaaye
patjhad aaye ae ae
ho
patjhad aaye
basant ritu jaaye
ho jaaye
champa chameli muskaaye
Raam kare babua
ho

pyaare munne tu bhi ek dilkhush gulaab hai
aye gullu gullu
tohri khushboo ka kahin koyi jawaab hai
pyaare munne tu bhi ek dilkhush gulaab hai
tohri khushboo ka kahin koyi jawaab hai
tohe na kisi ki
tohe na kisi ki
nazar lagi jaaye
Raam kare babua
ho o
Raam kare babua
hamaar phulwaa ko
hamri umar lagi jaaye
ho

bol Siyaawar Ramchandra ki jai
pawan put Hanumaan ki jai
Raamji ne duniya mein dukh sukh baante
balihaari hai
phulwaa ke ang sang
bagiyan mein kaante
Raamji ne duniya mein dukh sukh baante
phulwaa ke ang sang
bagiyaa mein kaante
tore pag mein na koyi
tore pag mein na koyi
kaanta lagi jaaye
Raam kare babua
ha
Ram kare babua
hamaar phulwaa ko
hamri umar lagi jaaye ho

kaash aisa howe jab bane tu dulha raja
ha ha
galiyon mein baaje jab shaadi ka baaja
kaash aisa howe jab bane tu dulha raja
galiyon mein baaje jab shaadi ka baaja
yahi Gangaraam ho
yahi Gangaraam
tohra sehra banaaye ae
Raam kare babua
ho
Raam kare babua
hamaar phulwaa ko
hamri umar lagi jaaye
patjhad aaye
basant ritu jaaye
ho jaaye
champa chameli muskaay

Hi Khyatji Atulji
thanks for this song. actually I had sent the link to this song a long time back as a link in the comments for another song from this movie and this was my grandpas favourite Rajesh Khanna song Sapno Ki Rani’ from ‘Aradhana’. there is a sad version to this song that plays after Mast Satyajeet dies

and by the way Rajesh Khanna played a PHOOLWALA. his was a guest appearance. he keeps a bunch of flowers on a daily basis for the young Satyajeet . this song is on the occasion of satyajeet’s birthday. hope thuis gives a decent background for this song

Thanks Khyatiji for this post! sometimes i wonder how different peoples work on the same frequency, as i had also sent this song’s lyrics to Atul ji on 25 th Nov, and also this would increase Atul ji’s work to do justice with each of them.same thing happened before with the song ‘matwaale ham matwaale tum’ from Jhoomru.
But ultimately the song matters , and it is on our blog !
thanks Atul ji !!

Avinashji,
I had selected few songs for Rajesh ji’s 70th birth anniversary. It was not easy to select one song as so many of His songs are still to be posted on this songs. Finally I decided this song as, this is a b’day song picturized on him.
I am sure every contributor on this blog, including me has experienced this “same frequency” matter few times in past. I can not imagine how Atulji is managing to remember and give justice to all contributors who are sending the same song during same time period. And like you have said, I also get happy if the song is posted and shared with all music lovers. Doesn’t matter who gets the credit.
