Ham pyaar ki baazi haare

Posted on: January 22, 2013

“Sazaa” (1951) was a G P Production movie. It was directed by Fali Mistry. The movie had Dev Anand, Nimmi, Shyama, Gope, Mukri, K. N. Singh, Lalita Pawar, Durga Khote etc in it.

As many as seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.

Here is the eighth and final song from the movie. This song is sung by Lata. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

Only the audio of this song is available. If one has to extrapolate based on the picturisation of other Lata songs from this movie then one may guess that this song is picturised on Nimmi. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

With this song, “Sazaa” (1951) joins the list of movies that have all their songs fully covered in the blog.

Song-Ham pyaar ki baazi haare (Sazaa)(1951) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Rajinder Krishan, MD-S D Burman

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

ham pyaar ki baazi haare
dil roye dard ke maare
balamva chale gaye
balamva chale gaye
meri aashaaon ke taare
toot gaye saare
sajanva chale gaye
balamva chale gaye

wo bedardi kya jaane
mere dard bhare afsaane
wo bedardi kya jaane
mere dard bhare afsaane
main kahoon jiya se bhool
jiya na maane
jiya na maane
lo aaye baadal kaare
o mere pyaare
sajanva chale gaye
balamva chale gaye
ham pyaar ki baazi haare
dil roye dard ke maare
balamva chale gaye
sajanva chale gaye

dil ghadi ghadi bhar aaye
aur chain kahin na paaye
dil ghadi ghadi bhar aaye
aur chain kahin na paaye
koi jaakar mere sajan se
yeh baat meri keh aaye
ham phirenge maare maare
o dwaare dwaare
sajanva chale gaye
balamva chale gaye
ham pyaar ki baazi haare
dil roye dard ke maare
balamva chale gaye
sajanva chale gaye

Hindi script lyrics (Provided by Sudhir)
—————————————————-

Beautiful vintage melody !!
The whole soundtrack of Sazaa was awesome & the number ‘tum na jaane kis jahan mein’ has been one of the commonest songs Lata ji have sung in her live concerts.
Pure shudh hindi lyrics by Sahir here, are a further testimony to his versatility as a poet.
This number is picturised on Shyama & not Nimmi & here is its video for further verification, if I’m correct.
