Teesra Kaun has a plot, which sounds to be very Hitchcockian. It is of a man on the run after being falsely accused of robbery cum murder. One would think, such a story wouldn’t give much of an opportunity for songs. But this being a Hindi film, there are in fact many beautiful songs in it. The music director being R D Burman. This song particularly doesn’t sound R D Burmanesque. I would have thought it to be from Shankar-Jaikishan.
In the 60s the hero of the Hindi films, in his quest of courting the heroine, often got lots of opportunities to masquerade. To put on a guise of an Arab was one of the most popular one. Feroze Khan, the hero of the film, uses this trick once again successfully with Kalpana (the heroine). How and why? It is a Hindi phillum yaar!

Lovely Harvey. I translated a song or two for Tom from this film. As Atul says, B (ya C) grade film with an A grade music 🙂
