“Samaapti” (1949) was an Uma Shankar production movie. It was directed by Amar Mullick. The movie had Bharati Devi, Talat Mehmood, Hiralal, Kanak Kumari, Sunder etc in it.
Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by Talat Mehmood and Suprabha Sarkar. Pandit Bhushan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Timir Baran.
Only the audio of this song is available. I can guess that Talat Mehmood had lip synced for himself but I am not sure who had lip synced in Suprabha Sarkar’s voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.

PS-This movie title is described as ‘Sampatti” in HFGK. It has been suggested It has been suggested by a knowledgeable regular (involved in publication of HFGK), that it is perhaps an error and the error may well be corrected in the future edition by mentioning the title as “Samaapti”. We will use the title of ‘Samaapti” in this blog for this movie.
