Posted on: March 18, 2013

“Aurat”(1953) was a Verma Films production. It was produced by Munshiram Verma and directed by Bhagwandas Verma. The movie had Premnath, Bina Rai, Purnima, Ullhas, Hiralal, Roopmala, Nazirabai, Mirabai, Devkishan, Mirza, S Pratap, Shanta Patel, Nazir Kashmiri, Rajkishore etc in it.

As many as seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eigth song from the movie. This song is sung by Lata. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Only the audio of this song is available. It is almost certain that the song was picturised on Bina Rai.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

Song-Bewafa ne de diya gham (Aurat)(1953) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics(Provided by Atif M)

apne lut jaane ka gham
yeh bhi samaa dekha kiye
woh hamein loota kiye
hum bezubaan dekha kiye

bewafa ne de diya gham
bewafa ne de diya gham
zindagaani loot li
haaye loot li
tod daala dil hamaara
tod daala dil hamaara
shaadmaani loot li
haaye loot li
bewafa ne de diya gham

jaane tum ne kya kiya
jaane tum ne kya kiya
qissa adhoora reh gaya
qissa adhoora reh gaya
apni baaten chhed kar
apni baaten chhed kar
meri kahaani loot li
haaye loot li
bewafa ne de diya gham

chheen kar khushiyaan hamaari
chheen kar khushiyaan hamaari
hum ko deen bechainiyaan
hum ko deen bechainiyaan
toone zaalim pyaar ki
toone zaalim pyaar ki
qeemat na jaani loot li
haaye loot li
bewafa ne de diya gham
