Ghaayal hirni ban ban bhatke

Posted on: June 2, 2013

“Dulhan Ek Raat Ki” (1966) was a Taxila Production movie. It was produced by M Bhawani Singh and directed by Dharm dev Kashyap. The movie had Nutan, Dharmendra, Rehman, Leela Chitnis, Kanhaiyalal, Malika, Johny Walker, Helen, Laxmi Chhaya, Sujata, Padma, Tabassum, Mumtaz Begum, Niranjan Sharma, Meenaxi, Amar, Papoo, Anilkumar, Prayag Raj etc in it.

Going by, reputed to draw upon geetkosh, this movie had nine songs in it and all of them have already been discussed in the blog. But it has been pointed out by Atif M that the movie has another song in it, which seems to be available only in the movie with its records not released.

Here is this tenth song from “Dulhan ek Raat Ki” (1966). It is sung by Bhupinder Singh and it is picturised as a background song as Nutan is shows going away into the unknown world while Dharmendra, Rehman and others miss her.

Neeraj is the lyricist. Music is composed by Madan Mohan.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

With this tenth song from “Dulhan Ek Raat Ki” (1966), this blog finally has all the songs of this movie covered in the blog.

Song-Ghaayal hirni ban ban bhatke (Dulhan ek Raat Ki)(1966) Singer-Bhupinder Singh, Lyrics-Neeraj, MD-Madan Mohan

Lyrics (Provided by Atif M)

ghaayal hirni ban ban bhatke
peechhe pada shikaari
umariya jaaye kahaan bechaari
umariya jaaye kahaan bechaari

ansuan jal so mal mal dhoyi
kisi gha*** ??? kabhi bhigoyi
doodh si ujli chaand si gori
maili ho gayi saari
umariya jaaye kahaan bechaari

bichhda meet gaaon ghar chhoota
yeh jag roothha woh jab roothha
aisi chaal chali qismat ne
poori baazi haari
umariya jaaye kahaan bechaari
umariya jaaye kahaan bechaari

Atif ji, thanks for introducing this Bhupinder’s song !!!

I am glad you liked it. I wonder which is the earliest song Bhupinder sang as a playback singer for Hindi films.

I think the earliest song he sang is the famous one ‘ hoke majboor mujhe usne bhulaaya hoga’ from Haqeeqat – 1964 !!
and after writing the above line , I take a break and visit the post for above song on our blog ,
a great post !! very touchy !
and , yes I found the same information (about Bhupinder’s first song) mentioned there in Sudhir ji’s comment.

11th song is there (in the movie only) as well.
