Atul’s Song A Day- A choice collection of Hindi Film & Non-Film Songs

Jag mein aaye koi koi jaaye re

Posted on: September 25, 2013

“Baabla” (1953) was an M P Production movie. It was directed by Agradoot. The movie had Manju Dey, Master Niren, Paresh Banerji, Ashit Baran, Molina, Pahari Sanyal, Tulsi Chakraborty, Hiralal, Sova Sen etc in it.

Five songs from this movie (including a multiple version song) have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth and final song from the movie. It is sung by Talat Mehmood. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala.

With this song, “Baabla” (1953) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Pity, SD didn’t use Talat much. The words are a marvel. Salaam to all

Avinash.
What a selection. I think this is one and only one ghazal which/and is philosophical. Ghazals are always about milna and bichhadna. This could be the last song.
