Song-Gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye (Gul Bahaar)(1954) Singer-Talat Mehmood, Lyrics-Shewan Rizvi, MD-Khayyam

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye
gar tera ishaara ho jaaye
har mauj sahaara de jaaye
toofaan kinaara ho jaaye
gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye

tum hamse zafaayen karte ho
aur hum ye duaayen dete hain
tum hamse zafaayen karte ho
aur hum ye duaayen dete hain
jo haal hamaara hai
ek din wo haal tumhaara ho jaaye
gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye

hum ishqa ke maare duniya mein
itni si tamanna rakhte hain
hum ishq ke maare duniya mein
itni si tamanna rakhte hain
daaman jo tumhaara haath aaye
jeena ka sahaara ho jaaye
gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye

parda jo hata do chehre se
veeraan e gulistaan ban jaaye
parda jo hata do chehre se
veeran e gulistaan ban jaaye
jalwa jo dikha do to raushan
qismat ka sitaara ho jaaye
gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye
gar tera ishaara ho jaaye
har mauj sahaara de jaaye
toofaan kinaara ho jaaye
gar teri nawaazish ho jaaye

Atul ji,

GUL BAHAR(1954),a M.P.Films production,was produced by Darshan and directed by Nanubhai B.Vakil.There were 2 MDs,Dhaniram and Khayyam and 5 lyricists,Shevan Rizvi,Jan Nisar Akhtar,Kaifi Azmi,Asad Bhopali and Azhar.
The cast was Shakila and Hemant(Phool aur kaliyan,Betaj Badshah,Kaala Mandir,Zindagi etc) in the lead and Kuldip kaur,Randhir,Ram avtar,Uma devi,Chand burque,Shanti Madhok,Kumar,Heera sawant,Anwari etc.
King Feroze of Triflistan had 4 sons. When he gets the 5th son, despite warnings,he sees the face of the son and loses eyesight. Now only the famous fairy flower Gul Bahar would restore his sight.
All the 4 princes, one by one go for its search and get entangled with the evil dancer Gul Badan. When the 5th son Taj-ul-mulk becomes young and handsome,he too sets out for the quest of flower.Fighting evil fairies and demons,he reaches the flower Gul Bahar. There he sees the beautiful princess Heena and falls in her love. She also loves him.
The story further details how the prince rescues the princess from a demon, get the flower, and then restore the eye sight of his father so that he can coolly marry Heena and enjoy life.

Today is the DAY when we used to meet the birthday boy named TALAT MAHEMOOD every year from 1980 to 1995 or so.I have treasures of memories in my mind,I remember many filmwallas send flower bouqet ,particulerly DANNY DENGZOPA whose birth day falls same day today.
Contribution of the memorable songs from the TALAT MAHEMOOD,is quite enough ,we can remember him till the hindi songs are heard by the HINDI SONGS LOVERS.

Thanks Arunji for adding meat to the song.
