Regulars may have noticed that only one song has been discussed today (4 april 2014) so far, whereas as many as eight songs were discussed the previous day. There could be several reasons for less output of songs on a particular day. My reasons for less number of posts today are several. One reason was that I discovered that I had inadvertently discussed same songs twice in the blog. I found that two movies “Amar Kahaani” (1949) and “Kanchan”(1955) has the same songs in them and I would often post the same song twice. On discovering this fact, I had tospend time to undo the duplication in the blog, which is a far more cumbersome process that the undoing that one does in an MS office application.

I enquired Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved in houseencyclopaedia nd he informed me that “Amar Kahaani” (1949) was repackaged and re released as “Kanchan” (1955). Perhaps tax reasons or some such reasons may have been there behind this action of the part of the producers.

Then I found another and somewhat similar case where a movie was planned to be made but it could not be released. the producers then shelved the project and made a new movie and released that. But while doing that, they used songs that were originally recorded for the shelved movie.

Discovering such facts and accordingly making changes in the write ups as well doing the background work to modify the existing information in the blog took time.

Almost half of the day was over before I could finish off the necessary legwork. Then I took up the work of posting the second song of the day. I decided to post a song written by Aziz Kashmiri and composed by Vinod. This combination have worked together in several movies and the exercise of finding as yet unposted songs of the duo led me to “Mukhda”(1951). I found that only one song from this movie had been discussed.

I searched for lyrics of this song from my contributors. I chose a song from the movie which was sung by Asha Bhonsle. I loved the song which I had never heard before. But there was a catch. The audio quality of the YT link was extremely poor because it was a recording of a radio broadcast of this song. I searched and managed to find a vastly superior audio of the song. I then had to get it uploaded in YT. That done, I was ready to dicuss this song.

I liked this song so much that I thought I should withhold this rare song for some special occassion. But then there are so many lovely songs lying around that one may as well discuss this song now and be done with it.

Here is this lovely and extremely rare song from “Mukhda”(1951). This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle. Aziz Kashmiri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Vinod.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

Song-Dil gaya raamji seene se (Mukhda)(1951) Singer-Asha Bhonsle, Lyrics-Aziz Kashmiri, MD-Vinod

Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)

dil gaya
ho dil gaya
dil gaya raamji seene se
ham lut gaye
haaye lut gaye
ham lut gaye ek maheene se
ji dil gaya
dil gaya raamji seene se
ham lut gaye
haaye lut gaye
ham lut gaye ek maheene se
ji dil gaya

din ke bane maheene rasiya
aur phir bann gaye saaaal
aur phir bann gaye saal
bedardi ne kabhi na poochha
aakar mera haal
bedardi ne kabhi na poochha
aakar mera haal
main gir gayi
main gir gayi pyaar ke jeene se
ji dil gaya
dil gaya raamji seene se
ham lut gaye
haaye lut gaye
ham lut gaye ek maheene se
ji dil gaya

nain miley to hansi jawaani
naach uthha mann mera
nain miley to hansi jawaani
naach uthha mann mera
dil ki gali mein o pardesiya
dil ki gali mein o pardesiya
aake laga le dera
main gir gayi
main gir gayi pyaar ke jeene se
ji dil gaya
dil gaya raamji seene se
ham lut gaye
ham lut gaye
ham lut gaye
ek maheene se
ji dil gaya
dil gaya raamji seene se
ham lut gaye
ham lut gaye
ham lut gaye ek maheene se
ji dil gaya

Atulji,
Once again you have walked the extra mile to get the song across. Legwork turned to leg up. Great job achieved. Thanks
