“Kachche Dhaage”(1973) was a Daaku movie produced and directed by Raj Khosla. His previous movie too was a Daaku drama, namely “Mera Gaaon Mera Desh”(1971). Attempt was made to retain the team of “Mera Gaaon Mera Desh” but with some changes. Dharmendra and Asha Parekh were replaced by Kabir Bedi and Mausami Chatterji. Laxmi Chhaaya, the scene stealer in “Mera Gaaon Mera Desh” (1973) was missing too.

Actors of “Mera Gaaon Mera Desh”(1971) who were retained in “Kachche Dhaage”(1973) included Vinod Khanna, Bhagwan, Purnima, Soni etc. The musical team too was retained.

Like “Mera Gaaon Mera Desh”(1971), “Kachche Dhaage”(1973) too had five songs in it. Both movies had four Lata solos and one duet. “Mera Gaaon Mera Desh” (1971) had one Rafi-Lata duet whereas “Kachche Dhaage”(1973) had one Lata-Hemlata duet in it.

Today (16 january 2015) is the birth anniversary of Kabir Bedi. As mentioned above, “Kachche Dhaaage” (1973) had no songs lip synced by any male actor including Kabir Bedi. Daakus do not sing songs was supposedly the motto of the Daakus of Raj Khosla movies. 🙂

No matter. Here is a Lata solo from the movie. The song, the title song of the movie, is lip synced by Mausami Chatterji. Kabir Bedi, and also Vinod Khanna, appear in the picturisation, and both are in disguise, which means Kabir Bedi is wearing a turban and is wrapped around in a blanket. Vinod Khanna has painted his face with black shoe polish and he too sports a turban, though no blanket. Bhagwan, enjoying the song does his jigs. He first stumbles against Vinod Khanna and then against Kabir Bedi and is suitably chastened after the experience.

Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra.

Song-Kachche dhaage ke saath jise baandh liya jaaye (Kachche Dhaage)(1973) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-Laxmikant Pyarelal

Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)

kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye
woh bandie kyaa chhoote
wahin pe jiye
wahin mar jaaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye
woh bandie kyaa chhoote
wahin pe jiye
wahin mar jaaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye

jin pe chal na paaye ae
zanjeeron ki joraa-jori
jin pe chal na paaye ae
zanjeeron ki joraa-jori
unko kheench ke le aaye
kachchi resham ki dori
kisi ne sach hi kaha hai ke
do hi baaton ke beech
mann ka meet ban jaaye
do hi baaton ke beech
mann ka meet ban jaaye
woh dushman jo bade badon ke
kabhie haath nahin aaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye

aisaa bhi aata hai koi
ek pawan ka jhonkaa aaa
aisaa bhi aata hai koi
ek pawan ka jhonkaa
ganga jal pe bhi ho jaata hai
madira ka dhokha
kisi ne sach hi kaha hai ke
jhoothe vaade ke saath
jise tod diyaa jaaye
jhoothe vaade ke saath
jise tod diyaa jaaye
woh bandhan na jude
jude to
jude gaanthh pad jaaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye

man mandir mein teri ee moorat
jeevan teri pooja
man mandir mein teri ee moorat
jeevan teri poojaa
mera tere dwaar binaa
preetam naahin ghar doojaa
kisi ne sach hi kaha hai ke
sachche naate ke saath
jis’se prem kiyaa jaaye
sachche naate ke saath
jis’se prem kiyaa jaaye
woh panchhi kya ude
ude to
ude laut kar aaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye
woh bandie kyaa chhoote
wahin pe jiye
wahin mar jaaye
kachche dhaage ke saath
jise baandh liyaa jaaye
