Chorus

Lyrics

Duniya waalon
jis dukhiyaa se (aa aa)
ho jaaye koi bhool (aa aa)
usko tum kaanta mat samjho (aa aa)
wo bhi hai ik phool
aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa

subah ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aa jaaye
ho ghar aa jaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
sakhi re
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
subah ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aa jaaye
ho ghar aa jaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye

jaise chanda din mein khoye
raaton ko khil jaaye
jaise chanda din mein khoye
raaton ko khil jaaye

isi tarah koi meet bichhad ke
tumse phir mil jaaye
isi tarah koi meet bichhad ke
tumse phir mil jaaye

usko akela
chhod na dena
chhod na dena
uske sapne tod na dena
tod na dena
sachi hai ye baat ke
apni bhool pe jo pachhtaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye

o o o o
Subah ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aa jaaye
o ghar aa jaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye

aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa

aaj ki jyot jaga lo
apne jeewan ki baati mein
aaj ki jyot jaga lo
apne jeewan ki baati mein

beeti ghadiyaan jinke liye thhin
mil gaye wo maati mein
beeti ghadiyaan jinke liye thhin
mil gaye wo maati mein

kal ki baaten
huyin puraani
huyin puraani
chhedo koi nayi kahaani
nayi kahaani
bhool ke jo dukh dard ki raahen
aage kadam badhaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye

o o o o
Subah ka bhoola shaam ko ghar aa jaaye
wo ghar aa jaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
wo bhoola na kehlaaye
suno ji
wo bhoola na kehlaaye

This song was a stage show, performed by Mala Sinha. Later some part of this song was repeated in background on Rajendra Kumar, who was a reformed ‘Culprit’ in the movie.

Thanks for this information.

I dare say the song was picturised on Ragini, a veteran dancer. In fact the song mai teri hui re balma was also picurised on her.
Unfortunately the video link is not opening>

I forgot to add. I have seen the movie twice and info is correct.

It was a beautiful movie. Rajendra Kumar unwittingly kills the brother of Mala Sinha while saving his sister’s honour.. After serving 10 years in jail while returning home on the way he meets Mala and promptly falls in love. He comes to know that the man he killed is Mala’s brother. During a marriage ceremony the Prosecuting Attorney recognises RK. End is happy. The song is the theme song.

Ragini had no role in the movie. She had just a spl appearance for the lovely song ‘Main teri hui Balma..’. OP Ralhan had spent Rs. 1.75 lakh for the picturisation of that song. It was a very big amount in 1963! That budget was enough for a normal B-C grade Hindi movie or a regional film at that time! So many had commented that since Ralhan had not paid any amount to the hero, he could afford that big amount for a song!!

When the film was released at Mumbai’s Eros Cinema, a rare thing at that time as Eros was specially for English movies, Ralhan was on the 7th heaven & had announced to the Press at the premier that he would now produce only colour films in future!! I was lucky enough to attend the premier!

Nayan saab did not say why O P Ralhan did not have to pay for the hero, Rajendra Silver Jubilee Kumar, a very costly star at that time. It was because Rajendra Kumar was his sister’s husband.
Secondly, O P Ralhan was very flamboyant and extravagant. Remember how he advertised TALASH as the costliest picture ever produced — 1 crore! PHOOL AUR PATTHAR with Dharmendra (and not Rajendra Kumar) and Meena Kumari was his another significant contribution.
