“Armaan”(1981) was produced and directed by Anand Sagar. The movie had Shammi Kapoor, Raj Babbar, Ranjeeta, Deepak Parashar, Prema Narayan, Shakti Kapoor, Dev Kumar, Kalpana Iyer etc in it.

I am surprised to realise that this movie has not yet been represented in the blog. Songs from this movie were big rage during those days.

Here is the first song from this movie to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bappi Lahiri.

The song is picturised as a piano song where Shammi Kapoor sits at the grand piano and lip syncs this song. Raj Babbar and Ranjeeta are among the attendees.

The audio version of this song is the full version as it contains an additional stanza which is missing from the video version. I have provided the lyrics according to the audio version of the song.

It’s really a surprise that ‘Armaan’ was not yet represented in the blog. It was a musical hit, specially for its disco songs.
This film was based on a classic English film ‘Casablanca’ of early 40s & this clip will remind you of a very famous dialogue of ‘Casablanca’ – “Play it Again, Sam”
