Today (25 june 2015) is the 91st birth anniversary of Madan Mohan (25 june 1924-14 july 1975). When I was looking at the list of Madan Mohan movies and their songs chronologically, I found that the first five Madan Mohan movies, viz “Aankhen”(1950), “Adaa”(1951), “Madhosh”(1951), “Shabistaan”(1951) and “”Aashiana”(1951) are already YIPPEED in the blog and all the songs of these movies have already been covered in the blog.

The first movie in the chronological list that still have a few songs undiscussed in the blog is “Anjaam”(1952). “Anjaam”(1952) was produced by B M Vyas and directed by Shanti Kumar for Sunrise pictures. The movie had Vyjayanthimala, Prem Nath, Kuldeep Kaur, Yakoob, Dulari, Jankidas, H. Prakash, Shammi, Chitralekha etc in it.

Two songs from this movie have been discussed and that leaves six more songs from this movie to be covered.

While going through the list of undiscussed song, I came across this song “Rut mastaani saamne hai raani”. When I played this song, I was immediately bowled over. Only the audio of this song is available, but it is easy to guess that this song is a dance song and it must have been picturised as a club song in the movie. This song has a “western” song. The lyrics of the song has these cute lines in it:

o gaana hindustaani
rhythm hai bhutaani

Here is a fantastic dance song that can make people think about dancing even today. The song is sung by Rafi and a female voice described as Chaandbala. In addition the song also has chorus. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricst. Music is composed by Madan Mohan.
