Today (29 july 2015) is the 13th death anniversary of Sudhir Phadke ( 25 july 1919-29 july 2002). Sudhir Phadke’s talent was not fully harnessed in Hindi movies. Most of his musical activities were in Marathi movies and he went on to become a legend in Marathi Film music, as a music composer as also as a singer.

In Hindi, two of his most well known musical albums were ‘Pahli Taareekh”(1954) and “Bhabhi Ki Choodiyaan”(1961).

As a tribute to sudhir Phadke, heee is asong from “Pahli Taareekh”(1954). This song, much less known in comparison to the iconic song “dil hai suhaana aj pahli taareekh hai”, is sung by Pramodini Desai. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Sudhir Phadke, of course.

Only the audio of this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Song-O daata paisa deta jaa (Pahli Taareekh)(1954) Singer-Pramodini Desai, Lyrics-Qamar Jalalabadi, MD-Sudhir Phadke

O daata paisa deta jaa
daata paisa deta jaa
maasoom duaayen leta jaa
O daata paisa deta jaa

jaise tere bachche pyaare
main bhi kisi ki pyaari
kisi ki pyaari
chhod gaya mujhe baapu mera aa
main kismat ki maari
sabka daata tujhko dega
deta jaa
kuchh deta jaa
kuchh deta jaa
maasoom duaayen leta jaa
O daata paisa deta jaa aa
daata paisa deta jaa

apni khushi se is duniya mein
koi na bane bhikaari
bane na bhikaari
bachpan mein hi bani bhikaran
aaj koi dukhiyaari
sada sukhi rahe bachche tere
deta ja
kuchh deta ja
kuchh deta ja
maasoom duaayen leta jaa
O daata paisa deta jaa aa
daata paisa deta jaa

maa ki laadli ye bhi na jaane
kaise haath phailaana
haath phailaana
kisi ke ghar ki izzat roye
duniya samjhe gaana
gaana hi samajh kar sunta jaa aa
sunta jaa
aur deta ja
kuchh deta jaa
maasoom duaayen leta jaa
O daata paisa deta jaa
