“Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyaan” (1967) was produced and directed by Kishore Sahu Sahu. The movie was made by him as a launch vehicle for his daughter Naina Sahu.

The movie had Biswajit, Naina Sahu, Helen, Shiv Kumar, Nazir Hussain,Lalita Pawar, Rajindernath,D.K.Sapru, Mridula, Sabita Chatterji, S.N.Bannerji, G.Asrani, Sumati Gupte, Meena, Master Papu, Brahm Bhardwaj, Jankidas, Tuntun, Pramod Awasthi, Raj Kishore, Surendra Desai, Viki Sahu, Rashmi Chopra, Rakesh, Surinder Singh, Achala Sachdev etc in it.

The movie had failed at the box office. A few songs from this movie had become popular and they have already been discussed in the past. In fact, as many as three (out of six songs in the movie) have already been discussed in the past. Two of those songs were sung by Lata and they were picturised on naina Sahu

Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.

Today (25 october 2015) is the birth anniversary of Sharda. On this occasion, here is a song from “Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyaan”(1967). This song is sung by Sharda. The song is picturised as a “dua” song lip synced by Naina Sahu at a wedding reception(where Rajendranath is the groom and I am unable to identify the bride). From the picturisation, one can see that she has her own heart in a state of being broken so this is supposed to be a situation where she is putting up a brave face in public though her own internal feelings are much different.

I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the actors who are visible in the picturisation.

Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

I have not been able to get a few words right in the lyrics. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections in the lyrics wherever applicable.

Song-Khushi ke rang mein khilti hui bahaar rahe(Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyaan)(1967) Singer-Sharda, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics

khushi ke rang mein khilti huyi bahaar rahe ae
khushi ke rang mein khilti huyi bahaar rahe ae
meri dua hai salaamat tera singaar rahe ae
khushi ke rang mein

kabhi judaai na aaye tumhaari raahon mein aen
kabhi judaai na aaye tumhaari raahon mein aen
rahe suhaag ka kaajal haseen nigaahon mein aen
tumhaare husn pe aur ishq pe nikhaar rahe
meri dua hai salaamat tera singaar rahe ae
khushi ke rang mein

kabhi na haath chhute mehandi waale haathon se
kabhi na haath chhute mehandi waale haathon se
nibhe ye pyaar ka kissa badi muraadon se ae
ke dil ko dil ka hamesha hi aitbaar rahe ae
meri dua hai salaamat tera singaar rahe ae
khushi ke rang mein

na gham ki aag jalaaye khushi ke daaman ko
na gham ki aag jalaaye khushi ke daaman ko
koi na laaye kabhi zindagi mein uljhan ko o
karaar dil ka rahe aur ?? qaraar hai
meri dua hai salaamat tera singaar rahe ae
khushi ke rang mein

?? – I hear it as “barqaraar rahe”.
Song reminds me of “Chale jaana zara thehro” of the same singer and Music directors from “Around the world” —

One can see Meena,T, Shiv Kumar(Hero of Mahua),in the picturisation and the bride with Rajinder Nath must be Sabita Chatterji(I have seen her in the role of girl firend of Johnny walker in one B/W movie, must be 12`o Clock)

Another lady in light blue saree must be Sheila Ramachandra or Rashmi Chopra, I am not very sure about that………..(Rashmi Chopra`s name is there in the credits of the movie)
