“Laal E Yaman” (1933) was the first movie of JBH Wadia that he produced under his banner of Wadia Movietone. The movie had Jaal Khambhata, Karim Jah, Feroz Dastoor, Master Mohammad, Sayani, Nazeer, B Khan, Baman Shroff, Padma, Mohini, Kamla, Mayuri, Miss Leela etc in it.

Twelve songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. That leaves us to discuss the thirteen and final song from the movie.

Here is the thirteenth and final song from “Laal e Yaman”(1933). The song, that lasts only around ninety seconds or so is sung by Feroz Dastoor (with one line of speech by some unknown voice).

Lyricists and music director for this song is not mentioned. Munshi Aashiq and Joseph David were the lyricists in the movie whereas Master Mohammad and Josef David were the two music directors.

I have not been able to get a few words in the lyrics to my satisfaction. I request our readers with keener ears to help fill in the blanks/ suggest corrections wherever applicable.

With this song, “Laal e Yaman”(1933) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog. “Laal e Yaman”(1933) now becomes the oldest such movie in the blog, bettering the record of “Chandidas”(1934). Based on available information, it is unlikely that we will have another YIPPEED movie older than “Laal e Yaman”(1933). So in that respect, this movie will now permanently hold this distinction of being the oldest YIPPEED movie in the blog.

Atul ji,

Film MADHURI-1932 had only 4 songs issued on records. All the 4 songs are covered in this Blog. Now there is no possibility of anymore songs of Madhuri,as no records were issued.

Can Madhuri-32 be the oldest film yippeed ?

-AD

Madhuri had 16 songs in it according to HFGK. Unless we cover all the 16, we cannot consider Madhuri as YIPPEED in the blog.

No records were issued other than the 4, and the film is gone for ever…so ?

Yes, the remaining songs of Madhuri are lost unless a print of this movie containing the songs can be obtained. There are several songs of “Laal e Yaman”(1933) whose records were not made. Those “Laal e Yaman”(1933) songs are available because its print is available. That has enabled us to cover all songs (including songs lasting just a few seconds long) from this movie.

@ Atul ji – Congratulations on covering all songs of ‘Laal e Yaman-1933’ and its joining to the ‘list of movies-all songs covered’ 🙂
