“Rajhath”(1956) was produced and directed by Sohrab Modi for Minerva Movietone. The movie had Sohrab Modi, Pradeep Kumar, Madhubala, Murad, Ulhas, Kammo etc in it.

Ten songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the eleventh and song from “Rajhath”(1956) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata and chorus. Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Only audio of this song appears to be available. I have no idea whether this song was included in the movie or not. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

With this song, “Raajhath”(1956) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Song-Nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi (Raajhath)(1956) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Hasrat Jaipuri, MD-Shankar Jaikishan

Lyrics

sun sakhi
more ae man ki baat
koyal tarse
aam ko
aur ban ko tarse ae mor
main tarsoon us preet ko
aur chhaayi ghata ghanghor

nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi
haay pi bin jiyara taras-taras reh jaaye ae
nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi
haay pi bin jiyara taras-taras reh jaaye ae
aisa bhi aaye koi baadal
hamaare angna rimjhim pyaar lutaaye

ae nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi
haay pi bin jiyara taras-taras reh jaaye ae

o o o
sajna milan ke ae gaaun main taraane
rang bhare lo aa gaye zamaane
aa aa aa aa
khoyi rahoon main kyun raam jaane
dhoondh rahi ho pyaar ke khazaane
kuchh bhi na apni khabariya khabariya
kuchh bhi na apani khabariya
main aisi bhooli din kab aaye kab jaaye
aisa bhi aaye koyi baadal
hamaare angna rimjhim pyaar lutaaye

ae nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi
haay pi bin jiyara taras-taras reh jaaye ae

o o o o
pyaase hain donon ankhiyon ke bhanwre
daalo kisi par kajra ke dore
o o
pankh pasare chup hain nigode
lootenge dil mad ke katore
dhoondhe kisi ko najariya najariya
dhoondhe kisi ko najariya
ye bairi mausam aag mein aag lagaaye
aisa bhi aaye koyi baadal
hamaare angna rimjhim pyaar lutaaye

ae nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi
haay pi bin jiyara taras-taras reh jaaye ae
nadiya kinaare phiroon pyaasi
haay pi bin jiyara taras-taras reh jaaye ae

Congratulations Atul ji on covering all songs of “Raajhath-1956” and its joining to the ‘list of movies-all songs covered’ 🙂

Lovely. Typically S(AA)J(Z).

Dear all,
The answer to this query of both the versions of the song has been discussed in Songsofyore, in the post, Songs of ‘Kinare’.
The songs were posted by Anu Warrier Ji, and the Rajhath song is only an audio, whereas in Do Gunde, Ajit and Jaishree Gadkar are lip synching the song. The Do Gunde version has music by Ghulam Mohammed and penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri.
AK Ji of Songsofyore referred the query to Hamraaz Ji, Arunkumar Deshmukh Ji and Sudhir Kapur Ji and all were unanimous about the explanation that both the films being Sohrab Modi productions, the producers had the right to use the song, and it was not used for Rajhath, but later used in Do Gunde.
Arunkumar Ji gave many such examples of songs, which were not used in the films, they were originally composed for, but later added to other films.
