“Sabzbaagh” (1951) was directed by Aziz Kashmiri for Nirmal Pictures. The movie had Shekhar, Nimmi, Cuckoo, Pran, Khanjar, Chand Burque, Rashid Khan, Om Prakash, Suraiya Choudhary, Kamal Kapoor, Majnu etc in it.

There were nine songs in the movie. Seven were composed by Vinod and remaining two by Gulshan Soofi. As many as seven songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.

Today (25 december 2016), on the occasion of the 57th death anniversary of Vinod ( 28 may 1922- 25 ecember 1959), here is the eighth song from “Sabzbaagh”(1951) to appear in the blog.

This song is sung by Lata. Aziz Kashmiri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Vinod.

With this song, all the seven songs composed by Vinod in this movie have been covered in the blog. That leaves one Gulshan Soofi song to be covered in the blog.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Ni main kehndi reh gayi (Sabz Baagh)(1951) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Aziz Kashmiri, MD-Vinod

Lyrics

ni main kehndi reh gayi
haaye main kehndi reh gayi
na na
dhola na

wo aa ke khwaab mein aen aen aen aen aen
wo aake khwaaab mein
din ki kali khilaane lage
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
dilon ki ujdi huyee ee ee
bastiyaan basaane lage
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
nazar uthha ke jo dekha to muskuraane lage
hati jo peechhe to
o o o
o o o
o o o
hati jo peechhe to
aage kadam badhane lage
hati jo peechhe to
aage kadam badhane lage
ni main kehndi reh gayi
haye main kehndi reh gayi
na na
dhola na

sarhaane baithh ke
kehne lage ki marte hain
tumhaare sar ki kasam
tum se pyaar karte hain
tum se pyaar karte hain
paseene sharm ke sunte hi mujhko aane lage
uthhi to haath pakad kar r r
r r r r
uthhi to haath pakad kar mujhe bithaane lage
uthhi to hath pakad kar mujhe bithhaane lage
ni main kehndi reh gayi
haaye main kehndi reh gayi
na na
dhola na
hans de hans de
bedardi ne phad li meri baanh
hans de hans de bedardi ne phad li meri baanh
ni main kahndi rah gayi
haaye main kehndi reh gayi
na na dhola na
