“Raam Laxman”(1957) was produced by M Nanabhai directed by Mohan Sinha for Harihar Chitra, Bombay. This mythological movie had Sulochana, Shahu Modak, Anant Kumar, Nanda, Ramesh Sinha, Dar Kashmiri, Bhalerao, Tilak Raj, Tiwari, laita Pawar, Gope, Rajendra, Minu Mumtaz, Tum Tun, Dube etc, with guest appearances by Sulochana Chatterji, Krishna Kumari, Naina and Gopikishna in it.

This movie had eight songs in it.

One song from the movie has been covered in the past.

Here is the second song from “Raam Laxman”(1957) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata. Bharat Vyas is the lyricist. Music is composed by Avinash Vyas.

Only the audio of this song is available. Going by the knowledge of Ramayana, it appears that this song could be picturised on a character playing Shoorpnakha trying to woo Laxman. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Main hoon albeli naar kar solah singaar(Raam Laxman)(1957) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Bharat Vyas, MD-Avinash Vyas

Lyrics

main hoon albeli naar
kar solah singaar
aayi hoon tere dwaar
mo se bol re
zara ras ke bhare naina khol re
main hoon albeli naar
kar solah singaar
aayi hoon tere dwaar
mo se bol re
zara ras ke bhare naina khol re

o o o o
o o o o
o o o o
mere baalon mein simti saawan ki ghata
saawan ki ghata
aa aa aa aa
saawan ki ghata
mere gaalon pe chhitki poonam ki chhata
mere gaalon pe chhitki poonam ki chhata
mere honthon mein pyaar
nainon mein nikhaar
aaj jogi tu aasan se dol re ae
zara ras ke bhare naina khol re
main hoon albeli naar
kar solah singaar
aayi hoon tere dwaar
mo se bol re
zara ras ke bhare naina khol re

rut hai basanti main raswanti
ang ang lahraaye ae ae
ang ang lahraaye
aaja kar len preet ki baaten
aaja kar len preet ki baaten
awsar chooka jaaye
ho o
awsar chooka jaaye
pade ras ki phuhaar
kare koyal pukaar
aaj jeevan mein preet ras ghol re ae
zara ras ke bhare naina khol re
main hoon albeli naar
kar solah singaar
aayi hoon tere dwaar
mo se bol re
zara ras ke bhare naina khol re
