“Bus Conductor”(1959) was produced by Ashok Bhambhri and directed by Dwarka Khosla for Sharda Films, Bombay. the movie had Shyama, Premnath, Amarnath, Maruti, Satish Batra, Sujata, Umesh Sharma, ramlal, Khairati, Narbada Shankar, Ameer Bano, Sadhana, Surya Kumar, Helen, Kanchanmala, Sheila Vaz, Cuckkoo etc in it.

This movie, described as a social movie had six songs in it. Three of these songs have been discussed in the past. I have no idea about the story of the movie. My guess is that Premnath plays the bus conductor in the movie. The movie has male playback voice in just two duets. All other songs have only female playback voices. So it appears that the movie revolves around songs and dances rather than around bus conductory.

Here is the fourth song from “Bus Conductor”(1959) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Geeta Dutt. Noor Dewasi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Bipin Babul.

Only the audio of the song is available. It sounds like a bar dance song to me, though some imaginative guessers can argue that this song could well be sung by a female bus condutor in night duty. 🙂 I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Daanv chalne ko hai (Bus Conductor)(1959) Singer-Geeta Dutt, Lyrics-Noor Dewasi, MD-Bipin Baabul

Lyrics

laa la la la
laa la lala l
hmm hmm
hmm hmm
hmm hmm
hmm
daanv chalne ko hai
baat ban’ne ko hai
pyaar ki raat hai ae
daanv chalne ko hai
baat ban’ne ko hai
pyaar ki raat hai ae ae

tere dil ka sukoon gori baahon mein hai
tere dil ka sukoon gori baahon mein hai
tujhko jo chaahiye
wo nigaahon mein hai
waaroon tujhpe main jaan
tera man hai kahaan
pyaar ki raat hai ae ae
daanv chalne ko hai
baat ban’ne ko hai
pyaar ki raat hai ae ae

khwaab poora hua hai suhaana tera
khwaab poora hua hai suhaana tera
naach kismat pe apni zamaana tera
ab zara muskura
aa mere pass aa
pyaar ki raat hai ae ae
daanv chalne ko hai
baat ban’ne ko hai
pyaar ki raat hai ae ae
