“Dankaa”(1954) was directed by J P Advani for Goodwill Pictures, Bombay. This “costume drama” had Nimmi, Amarnath, Mohana, Sundar, Heeralal, Neelam, Shivraj, Uma Devi, Roop Kumar, Om Prakash etc in it.

The movie had eleven songs in it that were sung by five singers and penned by three lyricists. It is interesting to note that Asha Bhonsle has sung in nine out of eleven songs. The movie had two Lata solos as well.

One song from the movie has been covered in the past.

Here is the second song from “Dankaa”(1954) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Lata. Nazim Panipati is the lyricist. Music is composed by Aziz Hindi.

Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the movie and also on the picturisation of this song.

Song-Na jaane kya jaadoo hai more sainyya jee ke paas(Danka)(1954) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Nazim Panipati, MD-Aziz Hindi

Lyrics

na jaane kya jaadu hai
na jaane
na jaane kya jaadu hai more sainya ji ke paas
na jaane kya jaadu hai more balma ji ke paas
sainya ji pe paas
more balma ke paas re
sainya ji ke paas
more sajna ke paasre
na jaane kya jaadu hai more sainya ji ke paas

jaadu kiya hai aisa balam ne
haay aisa balam ne
rakh diya dil ko kadmon pe hamne
kadmon pe hamne
bandh gayi aaj mori tooti huyi aas re
na jaane
na jaane kya jaadu hai more sainya ji ke paas
na jaane kya jaadu hai more balma ji ke paas

more balam ke naina hain teekhe
un jaisa koi dooja na deekhe
more balam ke naina hain teekhe
un jaisa koi dooja na deekhe
pahli najar mein ham to ban gaye daas re
na jaane
na jaane kya jaadu hai
more sainya ji ke paas
na jaane kya jaadu hai
more balma ji ke paas

apne piya ji ko ghadi ghadi dekhoon re
kit kit der se khadi khadi dekhoon re
apne piya ji ko ghadi ghadi dekhoon re
kit kit der se khadi khadi dekhoon re
naahin bujhe more nainon ki pyaas re
na jaane
na jaane kya jaadu hai
more sainya ji ke paas
na jane kya jaadu hai
more balma ji ke paas
