“Jugnu”(1973) was produced and directed by Pramod Chakraborty for Pramod Films, Bombay. The movie had Dharmendra, Hema Malini, Pran, Prem Chopra, Manmohan, Raj Mehra, Lalita Pawar, Nazeer Hussain, Randheer, Shameem, Asha Potdar, Kamal Kapoor, Brahm Bhardwaj, Kanu Roy, Rajan Kapoor, Paresh Nanda, Khursheed, Ratan Gaurang, Birbal, Sabeena, Mona, Parwez, Master Alankar, Master Ravi, Master Satyajit, Bhanumati, Shyam Kumar, Fakira, with special appearances by Sujit Kumar, Sonia Sahni, Ajit, Dhumal, Jayshree T and Mehmood.

The movie, though described as a “social” movie, was a crime thriller.

I had seen this movie during its second run in 1973.

The movie had six songs in it. The movie had three female solos sung by Lata, two male solos sung by Kishore Kumar and one duet. The movie had a “jhumka” song and a “Paayal song”, and also a “helicopter” song.

Five of these songs have been covered in the blog. Here are the details of the earlier five songs from the movie covered in the blog.

Here is the sixth and final song from “Jugnu”(1973) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Lata. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by S D Burman.

The song is picturised as a roadside tamasha song which serves the dual purpose of passing on message in code to Dharmendra who is on a mission of stealing a valuable diamond. I am unable to identify the lady lip syncing this phadakta hua dance song. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her.
PS- (i)She is Jayshree T.
(ii) I was posting this article under duress, viz with my better half looking on disapprovingly and repeatedly ordering me to stop all this work on the computer. 🙂

With this song, “Jugnu”(1973) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Song-Chale aana peepal ke neeche (Jugnu)(1973) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-S D Burman

Its Jayashree Talpade aka Jayashree.T

Yes, her name is also mentioned in the link.
As per HFGK Vol – V Jayshree T, Mehmood, (Sujit Kumar, Sonia Sahni, Ajit, and Dhoomal) make Special Appearance in this movie

I can identify Dharmendra(with golden wig),Mehmood(with turban),Ratan Gaurang,Rajan Kapoor(one of the police inspectior)featuring in the video song

The dancer is Jayashree T.
There are two factual errors. Not all the songs were solos.
Gir gaya jhumka….Lata, Kishore Kumar.
Deep diwali ke… Kishore Kumar, Sushma Shreshtha, Chorus.

The dancer is Meena T, sister of Jayshree T.

She isn’t Jayshree T.

My mistake. The dancer is Jayshree T and not Meena T as I said earlier. Sorry for this error.
