‘Kahaan Tak Aasmaan Hai-1984’ was directed by Mahmood Qureshi for ‘Shaily Suman Productions, New Delhi’. It had Kanwaljeet, Deepa, Dr Shreeram Lagoo, A.K. Hangal, Ashalata, Arpada Chaudhari, Rakesh Bedi and others.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 13.06.1984.
This movie had as many as seven songs – all written by Kaifi Azmi and music was composed by Raghunath Seth. Asha Bhonsle, Bhupinder, Anuradha Paudwal and Kailash Shrivastava had given their voices to the songs in this movie.

Today I am presenting the song number five as mentioned above i.e., ‘koyi jab se shariik -e-kaaravaan hai’ sung by Bhupinder Singh.
I had listened to this song for the first time on the ‘cassette’ brought out by HMV, which was a compilation of the songs sung by Bhupinder Singh. I think the compilation cassette was titled as ‘Karoge Yaad To …’ and had many of the beautiful songs sung by Bhupinder Singh. I remember, I had gifted this cassette to one of my colleagues later, who liked these songs very much. That was in 86-87 or 87-88, if I remember correctly.
Since then, I have not forgotten this song as I like it very much, but all these years I do not remember to have heard it anywhere else such as on Radio or TV programs. I think this movie ‘Kahaan Tak Aasmaan Hai-1984’ was an obscure movie of its time and it as forgotten easily. Though I have not listened to the songs of this movie other than the today’s one, I think the other songs too required a listening as the music is score by Raghunath Seth. Also, the verses having written by Kaifi Azmi makes it special.
Today 6th February 2021 is the eighty-first birthday of singer Bhupinder Singh (born on 06th Feb’1940). On this occasion we wish him a very happy birthday and a healthy and peaceful life ahead.
With today’s song, the movie ‘Kahaan Tak Aasmaan Hai-1984’ makes its debut on the blog.
