We have often likened this blog to a ‘train and its journey’. Here this train- ‘the blog’ is driven by the ‘engine’ that is our fearless leader Atul ji. The coaches of this train or the ‘wagons’ 🙂 are the team members. This train – a ‘bandwagon’ is on an exciting journey of exploring and discussing yesteryear Hindi Film Music and some non-film music too. The blog is read all over the globe (right?) and there are many many readers and well-wishers associated with this blog.

The journey is on … and before anybody ‘sleeps’ :), he or she must fulfill the commitments made to themselves and for the blog. These commitments have been taken voluntarily by the members with the permission of the ‘leader’. From the team members there already is our ‘in-house’ ‘encyclopedia’ and seniors writing in-depth posts on the yesteryear’s music and movies. There are passionate team members actively participating in this journey of ‘love for the cinema and HFM’.

Then there is me often sending articles, lyrics contribution, reminders to the editors, pointing out corrections, giving suggestions and (emotional blackmailing 🙂 of the editors not included.) always requesting for something or the other, all the time. 🙂

So, everything is going on well in order like a ‘standard operating procedure’. Here it is mutually agreed and ‘non-documented’ ‘SOP’ operating successfully for more than ten years now (that is after the contributors joined). This blog is the best example of well-synchronized efforts towards a ‘common goal’ in agreement by all.

Well, everyone is now aware of what I have mentioned above. But how the blog was in its initial days …

When it started, only the originator ‘the leader’ was there, and then he was not also a leader but a simple ‘enthusiastic music lover’. I guess that when he initiated this blog, he was an already married person. What did you said … is that anything to do with this blog? Yes, because after all a family person has to look after his family and also needs to contribute to domestic work 😊 at least in a small way if not a big contribution.

So how it was all when Atul ji had just started the blog? And after that, how he keeps it going, moving from places to places in his professional life?

That imagination is the subject of the today’s article with a rocking song accompanying to it :).

Before that we need to see Atul ji in two aspects – one being ‘his self’ in isolation as the one-man army, and second as a ‘team leader’ with all team members. It is him only who is ‘constant’ (like ‘change’) and owns a responsibility to keep this blog going. So, how he sets out on this journey, travelling from places to places, exploring HFM. I am sure when he launched this blog his morale was at an all-time high-level. Since he was already doing a job then, the workplace responsibility also gets added and after that he needs to find time for his passion – writing about Hindi movies, the songs, and his related memories.

So, the journey of blog started from Jabalpur and then moving from places to places – Jabalpur to Nagpur, Nagpur to Bilaspur, Bilaspur to Izzat Nagar (Bareilly)- it is now halting at Gorakhpur. The next station may be Bhopal 😊 we hope so 😊.

Well, the journey must have started with the same energy as our today’s hero started ‘main niklaa o gaddi le ke’ 🙂!

And every city he (our leader) lived in he left his ‘dil’ and collected ‘unforgettable memories’ of these places. In this process he did not care where he was. He was just moving … ‘gaddi le ke’

On the way he finds ‘moti’ (substitute for ‘mutiyaar’ 🙂 ), or actually lot of ‘motis’ (pearls). These are the ‘rarest of rare gems’ that are posted on the blog. Imagine that the dot days on the blog are the obstacles or ‘phaatak’ and ‘signal’. But, being disciplined person, our leader will not break the signal (translation of ‘signal todna’ or jumping the signal) and run, but he will wait’ and resume with more force with new milestones. Just think that the milestones are the centuries of songs and stations en route are the centuries of the various artists.

I believe that our leader does not believe in ‘dreaming’ and is a ‘man of action’. But, if not dreaming, at least, he must be planning some special articles for special occasions and combining them to ‘special statistical events’ on the blog. There are many new things – new songs – of yesteryear (starting from the thirties) coming to the blog which maintain the excitement of this beautiful journey. New events with ‘older songs’ keep the momentum always on a higher scale.

Just imagine thousands of songs falling from the heaven like petals of flowers, their fragrance filled in all the space around, and the man with his both his hands trying to collect each petal and embracing them to his heart with love. . . each creation of the songs getting the same love and enthusiasm and resting at their places shining like a bright star. . .

(We have compared the treasure-trove of songs to the ‘ocean of songs’ many times, for a change this time we symbolize them with flower-petals falling from the heaven 🙂 so that we can embrace them to the heart.)

Operating in this digital age now and maneuvering the steering with remote controls the ‘gaddi’ is travelling. And the journey is on. . .

So today when our dear Atul ji is celebrating his birthday we wish him a very happy birthday and a healthy, wealthy, peaceful and ‘full of musical life’ ahead. . .
