Today’s song is from the 1977 movie ‘Solah Shukravaar’.
I was under the impression that this movie is already available on the blog, but it’s not the case. So, today we get introduced to this movie and it makes its debut on the blog.
It seems that this movie was inspired by the huge success of the movie ‘Jai Santoshi Maa-1975’. However, I do not remember this movie and either its songs.
‘Solah Shukravaar-1977’ was directed by Ashish Kumar (the hero of this movie and hero of ‘Jai Santoshi Maa’?), ‘Santoshimaata Pictures Bombay’.
It had Ashish Kumar, Prem Narayan, Bela Bose, Tarun Ghosh, Bharat Bhushan, Abhi Bhattacharya, Manhar Desai, Rajnibala, B.M. Vyas, Manik Dutt, Leelawati, Manik Chaudhary, Ramesh Deo, Anita Guha, Meenakshi, Indira Bansal, Polsan, Amarnath, Dilip Dutt, Master Ravi, Baby Sweety, S. Bannerjee, Anant Marathe, Anjana and others.
L.M. Gannu and Anuradha Guha made special appearance in this movie.
From the above star cast list we can see that many faces from the movie ‘Jai Santoshi Maa-1975’ were repeated in this movie.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 09.02.1977.
This movie had seven songs including one multiple version song.
Lyrics of all the songs were written by Ravindra Jain who also composed the music for this film.
Chandrani Mukherjee, Ravindra Jain, Aarti Mukherjee, and Hemlata had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
Today’s song is sung by Ravindra Jain and on screen it is lip synced by Ashish Kumar. Also seen in the picturisation of this song are Prem Narayan, Anita Guha, Abhi Bhattacharya, and others.
